TTC After a Loss

Hello, new here

Hello all. I am unfortunately here because I had my 3rd miscarriage over the weekend.......so I know this is a little soon, but I am not waiting to TTC again. This is such a painful thing to go through and my heart is broken.... I feel like the only thing that will help is to not give up and try again as soon as I feel up for it. I have been going through so many emotions over the past few days, and its hard to not feel hopeless and scared that I might not be able to have a family. My husband and I have been trying for 3 years and we were so excited and once I got to 10 weeks we felt comfortable enough to tell friends and family. Then just a few days after I hit 10 weeks I started spotting and it was all downhill from there. And, so, here I am, sad, scared, depressed, but at the same time having to keep it together and try to stay positive so I don't go crazy....

  • Welcome to the board, I am sorry for your loss. Thirding the advice to make sure you are medically cleared. It's not just the mind and soul that needs to heal. Remember that the overwhelming need to be pregnant again is part of the grief process. Work through it before getting back on this particular horse.

All of this. Welcome to the board. I run the newb check in, feel free to join in. I will post it tomorrow. I'm so sorry for your loss.

  • I'm just going to echo what PP's have already said. We've all felt the overwhelming need to try again as soon as possible. But it is so important for your health and the health of any future pregnancies, that you give yourself time to heal physically and emotionally.

I'm sorry for your loss. Welcome to the board. ((hugs))
  • So sorry for your loss.  When I first had my loss all I wanted was the jump back into TTC, now that I've had a little time it is much less urgent.  That really is part of the healing process.  Take some time for yourself both physically and mentally.  So sorry you had to join us.

    BFP #1 ended with H born 2/2/13
    BFP #2 ended in loss @7weeks 10/15/14
BFP #3 due 8/21/15 *please stick*
  • I'm sorry for all you've been through. We have a multiple loss check-in for those of us who have had more than one loss. Feel free to check it out. It's a great group of ladies.

  • Sorry once again for your losses *hug*

I am going to mimic what others have said. In the Miscarriage board you stated that you felt your time was running out due to your age. Please don't let that play a factor in TTC right away. It's not worth the risk to try again if your body hasn't healed. I am not a Dr but I would proceed with caution if I was in this situation and was cleared to try again so soon after a 10 week loss.

    Good luck to you.
I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

  • I'm very sorry for your losses. I hope you'll find the comfort and support you need here. The ladies on this board have been so great and caring.

"Everybody here has got a story to tell. Everybody's been through their own hell. There's nothing too special about getting hurt, but getting over it that takes the work. Because one way or another, we all need each other. Nothing's going to turn out the way you thought it would. Friends and lovers, don't you duck and cover because everything comes out the way it should in the end." -Glen Phillips, "Duck and Cover"
