list

Trying to make a list of what I need I have all I need for the baby but I'm not sure of what I'll need for when I'm going to the hospital...anyone has any ideas

Re: list

  • I googled what to pack in my hospital bag. Some have great ideas and other brought things that made no sense to me. I suggest searching "what to pack in hospital bag" online and decide what works best for you.

  • I had diapers and wipes, 3 outfits, yoga pants for me, hygiene stuff (tooth brush, wash, torture paste, etc) and personal comfort items like slippers, socks, robe and a comfy shirt. I didn't need the diapers and wipes but all of the things I brought worked out well.

  • I totally watched some what's in your labor/ hospital bag videos on youtube. And I've done this before but it has been 6.5 years.

  • I've puked it up enough for torture to be accurate @DBJackson25‌.

  • And when do you guys pack said bags?
  • I'll have mine ready at 35 weeks but a lot of people don't bother until 38 weeks.

  • I think I packed my bag at 37 weeks last time. I'll probably do the same this time. There are obviously some things you cannot pack that far in advance, so I made a list of things (like cell charger) and put it on top of my bag. It was helpful to have it all written out at 1am when we made the run to L&D, rather than panicking and trying to figure out what we still needed.

  • I pack mine earlier, it's ready to go already. My son was born at 33 weeks and I didn't have it packed. I forgot a ton of stuff and had to send dh to get it for me, then when he failed my mom repacked for me. It's a lot easier to just leave a packed bag in the back of a closet.
  • Dr. Told me to have my bag packed by 34 weeks.

  • I've just googled lists. WHen I had DD I didn't pack a bag and was totally unprepared.

This time probably bring some clothes for LO and a blanket or two. For me 2 tops, 2 yoga pants, underwear, socks, toiletries, snacks for DH (yes I believe he will use them) and change for DH to raid vending machine, camera, camera charger, purse, cell phone, cell phone charger.

I can't see myself bringing some of the stuff others bring like make up or their own blankets for the hospital. That just seems like over kill to me.

  • With DD I didn't pack a bag for her separately. I only added to my bag what she may need. At the hospital I delivered they supplied everything except for a come home outfit. I added a few diapers just in case as we live an hour away from the hospital.
  • Got more to pack this time around, I'll need a bag for DD to go to grandma's for a few days. Last time I packed at 38wks. (mostly because a lot of the stuff ie toothpaste was a day of toss in)

Oh and I was stuck in the hospital 5 days last time, I so didn't pack enough...ugh
