Groin pain

Hey all! Anyone else have crazy leg/groin pain? I had it with my last pregnancy, too (this will be baby #2). I was diagnosed with sciatica and went to physical therapy, which helped a bit, but I'm convinced there is little I can do and that it's not truly sciatica, but moreso just my hips widening, putting pressure on my pelvis. Anyone else experience this and have any tips or tricks to share?

  • @sharkfarts Is the pain on the inside of your leg, or just the hip area in general? I actually thought I pulled my groin muscle jogging this morning, but this post is making me curious..

  • I had awful pubic bone pain during my first pregnancy. At times I couldn't even walk up stairs. I used a heating pad nightly and took Tylenol when it was really bad.

Luckily, I haven't dealt with it this pg yet but this baby is breech where my son was always head down and very low. Which I think contributed to the pain.

    Best of luck!

  • Thanks all! The diagnosis and treatment was from the last time I was pregnant and had this same discomfort. I have a different doc now and I'll certainly ask at my next appt. I also like the idea of a chiro...thanks!

What in the world is lightening crotch? My pain is on my inner leg, groin area, but I wouldn't say it is sharp, shooting pain most of the time. I have a pillow at night between my legs and am careful about balance (like keeping my legs together when getting in and out of bed or the car). I also started sitting on an exercise ball at work. I honestly think there is little that seriously helps...just something that will pass in time (at least that was the case last time I had this).
  • lightening crotch sucks.  basically like the baby is kicking you in the lady parts with a steel toed boot.

  • Yikes! I don't think it's that!
  • I find discomfort is an all the time thing now a days, but again, it's about your limits. How far can you push before you are just moaning in pain. At least it is for me. Haha.
  • I get the pain feeling like pelvis is pulling apart. It mainly happens when I run. It happened with my first, he sat very low. My second I didn't have it at all but he was causing me a different pain in my hip, I have broken my pelvis before when I was younger. It seems more with my third I have another one very low. Staying active helps overall, sitting too much aggravates it.
  • This!! All of the above!! Woke up one morning and had to google: feels like I was kicked in the vag.
I also sleep with a pillow, try not to sit or stand for too long, get up with knees together and I sometimes suck in my gut, just to lift the weight of the baby off my pelvis for a bit. Seems to help a bit. Going to try heating pads next! Thanks ladies!
  • I also suffer from sciatia bouts from time to time. Mainly in my left hip/back. This left side sleeping even with a pillow is killing my hip. The other side is RLP/groin pain. Same stretching you guys all described. Pregnancy is definetely making me feel my age.
