is anybody else really cold in early weeks of pregnancy

Hi this is my first post is anybody else out there feeling cold in their early weeks of pregnancy? I'm 6 weeks pregnant and really cold is this normal

Re: is anybody else really cold in early weeks of pregnancy

  • I've been feeling more sensitive to the cold, but since I got pregnant I've also been diagnosed as hypothyroid, which increased sensitivity to cold is a symptom of. So I'm not sure if it's just from thy thyroid issue, or from pregnancy as well. sorry if this isn't a super helpful response.

  • I definitely am, especially hands and feet.  I'm told it's because the blood is headed to the belly and baby.  Didn't research that myself, but I buy it.

Also, welcome.  You'll see that each day there is a symptoms thread where people commiserate about all the pregnancy symptoms we are experiencing.  Join us over there.....

  • Yes! I even shake during baths and showers because I get so cold. And sleep with a heavy fleece blanket under my regular comforter at night.

  • Yes! I'm so cold. I actuly have two thick winter duvets on and a fleecy blanket in bed tonight. I'm still frozen. I also get realy hot too though. It's a nightmare!
  • What do you know, I thought you were supposed to be hotter than usual while pregnant, so I didn't link my recently being cold all of the time to pregnancy! My husband will be warm and I'm shivering wearing 3 shirts...I was starting to wonder if I should get checked for hypothyroidism.

  • @catladymeow‌ it's probably a good idea to bring it up to your dr. Feeling cold is a symptom but it could also just be the way your body is reacting to the hormones/pregnancy. Good luck!
  • Yes! And I'm usually hot. The family is loving it cause I'm not turning the heat down lol
  • I am freeezing all the time too. Luckily our weather just changed & it's supposed to be warm here for the next week! But still, I'm coooold!
  • Yesssss! I'm usually always warm but I've been freezing lately. Brrrr
