Timing question for you pros

Okay, so my Doctor’s office has me at 3w6d according to my last period. The thing is, I had gone in to see my doctor like a month ago because I was getting my period or spotting all the time in October. They have me set up for a 12/29 ultra sound which would 8 weeks according to the calendar I am on now. I do have a call into the office to go over my calendar more in depth, but just wondering if anyone has any kind of theory as to if I am further along than thought? The reason I think this is that I got a positive blood test on November 22nd. Here is my calendar. October 9th – 22nd I had my period. I had a light period/spotting from November 2-7th and November 11-13th. And then I got a positive blood test November 22nd. If I was only three weeks at that point, I didn’t think that I should be able to even test until December 2nd. I am having a lot of nausea, low back pain and sore breasts. I understand that some people get kind of pissed when you post in here what they consider to be stupid questions, but I just have a feeling that I am further along than we are tracking here. Any thoughts would be appreciated while I wait to hear back from my doc. TIA.

  • @hbanana18 thank you for the response! I really appreciate it. I was tracking ovulation. My clearblue digital monitor had me ovulating on November 18th and 19th, but I got my BFP on November 22nd. Soooooo. I guess I'll have to wait it out until 12/29!

  • By tracking ovulation I think she meant temping. The monitors only tell you when you might ovulate and not necessarily that you did.

Additionally if you were already pregnant it's possible you'd get + ovulation kits at that time.

Wait it out for your ultrasound and the doctor will adjust your due date based on your measurements at that time. I had my +hpt at 3w4d so it's completely possible that you're less than 4w right now.
  • I think it's possible you are farther along, a dating u/s will clear that up.  My office doesn't do them routinely, but if I was in your shoes I would request one if it isn't standard.   I've heard that some people can get positive OPKs while pregnant, so that might explain why you had a positive.  Also even if you were having negative OPKs, that doesn't necessarily mean you didn't ovulate earlier.
The month I got pregnant with my son, I never saw a positive.
  • Hi all - yes I also heard that about the ovulation kits. Anyway, I ended up speaking to my doctors office more in depth and the nurse requested that they move up a dating ultrasound by a few weeks, so I'll be going in on 12/12 instead. Thanks for the insight.
