Mostly I'm looking for fun ideas, but I figured I'd make it a clicky in case people are already eyerolling at Christmas threads, because clicking things! I know we're already kind of beating the gift thing into the ground, so if I've missed a thread on stocking stuffers feel free to :-? and [-X (and kindly link me!)

Will you be filling a stocking for your J13er, and if so, what will be in it?

Nope. I don't celebrate Christmas. But my shoes fit just right and my head is screwed on perfectly straight, thank you very much.

Yes, I guess. Hopefully Santa will be coming because I have no idea what I'm going to put in it.

  • Loading the player...
  • Little people animals for his zoo, a small tamborine, lots of stickers, some chocolate, advil, a toy car, bubble bath, an orange, a little bit of everything.
  • Were going to end up doing 3 stockings this year, so I'll probably even end up just sticking some toys he already has into his stocking. We always do fruit. I'll probably get him another ball and a sippy and little stuffed animal.

  • Man, I've got to get on this because we do stockings on St. Nicholas Day, which is Saturday. Yikes! I usually go to Cost Plus World Market and go crazy there. Always an orange at the toe and a candy cane.

  • Not doing one. I didn't grow up doing stockings. Maybe I should start the tradition? Hmmm...
  • Addie's stocking is huge. I am putting a lot of what was already mentioned and a new pair of shoes!
  • SS?

I get my parents and brother and sister a few stocking stuffers, silly bandaids or tissues or cute sock or nail polishes.

I sometimes get my husband a few, hat, gloves, funny socks or boxers.

I won't be getting T stocking stuffers this year. I know she will be overwhelmed with gifts from relatives and since she won't really get the Santa thing this year, we won't really buy her much.

  • We always do oranges in Christmas stockings (and bonus, DD loves them), so she's getting an orange, some coconut oil (she loves it so much that her word of the week is "coco!"), and maybe a couple of little fun things. Plus I'll throw a pouch in there, because she loves them and I don't really let her have them that much. Who knew a plastic bag of spinach-mango-pear puree could make someone THAT happy?

For the grownups, oranges, chapstick, reusable shopping bags, chocolates, that sort of thing.

  • Great ideas J13! Small cars would be perfect, he luuuuuurrrves his cars, and I hadn't thought about crayons but the dog has eaten most of his first box so I guess I should replace them :)

@missymr L would love it if I filled his stocking with condoms. When he comes into our bedroom he makes a beeline for the box on our nightstand. Crinkly!  :-??

@ramy3 @queenbone I didn't even know that an orange in the toe was a thing....

I usually get DH some nice/fun work socks, chocolate, a CD or two if I can get them dirt cheap (he doesn't mind like-new used), and a small toy. Because everybody needs toys at Christmas :D

  • I should probably buy Charlotte a stocking first,...then I can think of what to stuff it with :)  I actually got these cute little books that I can wrap individually and fill the stocking with.

  • I'm home now and making my shopping list and realize I forgot to mention gold coin chocolates. The legend is St. Nicholas threw a bag of gold coins into the window/down the chimney to save the family from having to sell their daughters off.

Can I just tell you how challenging it is to explain that part of the story to little boys?
