DS is here!

We went in for my routine 38 week appointment on Wednesday and my blood pressure had gone up significantly. They sent me to L&D to be monitored and ds had a few decelerations in his heartrate. They decided since I was 38 weeks that they would induce that day. They gave me cervadil at 5 pm and kept me there overnight.

Friday at 6 they checked me and I was 2cms and they decided to get everything moving and break my water. At 7:30 they broke my water, 8:30 I got my epidural. 10:30 they checked me and I was only 3cms. We prepared to be there for the long haul. The Dr said it wouldn't be until at least 6pm. DH insisted that ds would be born before noon. Shortly after 10:30 I started to feel contractions again. I was frozen (couldn't feel cold when they touched me with ice) but I was feeling every contraction. They started me on pitocin to get my contractions closer together. At about 11:45 the nurse catheterized me and the contractions became unbearable. DS's heartrate dropped dramatically and the nurse checked me. I was fully dilated and his head was right there. She quickly called the Dr. 2 half pushed and 1 full push later and ds was here. Born November 27th at 11 :55 am. 7lbs 1oz 21inches long at 38 weeks 2 days gestation. We are so in love with him already and he is a champion nurser!
