@earthian that's so cool he found you!! How exciting!
TMI: I haven't been able to poop all week and eating as much as I have is making me miserable... Oh pregnancy joys...
I think today I'm going to get a little fake Christmas tree and some lights for my apartment. I think it would make home more cheerful and I've been feeling really low lately.
I haven't gotten one thing for baby yet... Not even diapers. Now that I have consistent income though I'm going to start a little at a time. I'm kind of in panic mode with everything I have to get, but I think I can do it in 4 months... :-S
Good morning!
We got our Co sleeper in the mail friday and I told myself I wasn't going to put it together until closer to march...I made it until last night. I'm glad I did it though because one, I love it. Two, one of the bars is an inch too short! So I get to call the company tomorrow and hopefully get the correct bar.
Also, I have a half brother I've never met that I have been searching for since my dad passed in 2009. No luck for me, but he found me and sent me a message on Facebook yesterday! I don't really know much about him other than he is married with four kids. I only found out I even had a half brother when I was 16. But I'm excited that he wants to get to know us. (My sister and myself. )
That is really exciting on your half brother. Does he live near you? Will you be able to meet him?
We started our registry this weekend in person at the store. I've been doing tons of research on all this baby stuff on Amazon and Lucie's List and consumer reports, etc and had my top 3 choices in each category to check out in person at the store. It was somewhat disappointing on the selection they had in store.
I felt somewhat pressured by the registry person who was trying to talk me up to spend more than 3x what I had planned on a stroller (from the Britax B-Agile with matching infant seat I was 95% sure I was going to get to some Bugaboo stroller that cost over $1,000) saying it didn't suit my lifestyle. Ugh. No way I'm spending $1,000+ on a stroller alone. Now I'm second guessing myself.......my husband is convinced we should splurge for the UppaBaby Cruz - which looks awesome, I'm just struggling with spending a few hundred extra and not sure if its worth it. So confused!
I'm debating driving 40 minutes to go to an Arby's. Yes, Arby's. Maybe I can convince my H to go with me. But I just want all the curly fries and roast beef on a yummy bun before my GTT. I have been on a strict diet of carbs and savory meat since my BFP.
Today is a sad day. Today is the day I have to buy some crocs because my feet are too fat for regular shoes. And not the cute crocs. Nope. Original crocs.
@earthian, that's great! Maybe if things go well your families can get together over the holidays! Keep us posted on how it goes.
@cinderella105, DH lost his job a couple months ago. He's since got a new one (temp) and has the prospect of a full time job that would begin in February. We haven't bought anything for the baby yet. Like you, I get nervous that things won't be ready but consignment is going to be our best friend once we are able to start buying things!
My random is that it's 10:30 and I'm still in bed. I'm trying to find the motivation to go for a walk. Maybe once I get off TB.
Is it me or is it slightly annoying when you are constantly told by others: "it's so sad you can't drink! I can't wait till you can drink again!!" Am I only fun when I drink? I think I'm still pretty fun! We went to a friends house last night to play darts. I had fun, idk about everyone else.
Also, does it make us bad parents that we aren't even thinking about the nursery until after Christmas? So many of you are already done. Also we have bought nothing for the baby yet. Money is tight and we are trying to make it through xmas first. We have so much stuff left from when SS was a baby, but I can't help but think, if this baby came today, we would be screwed!
@lisap0924 - we are the same way. And anything we need - Amazon prime will deliver before I am home from the hospital. No progress on the nursery - I think we maybe picked out a crib. We, also, want to get through the holiday.
Thanks ladies. It's nice to know we are not alone. I have a nursery theme. We are doing an Eric Carl nursery. but currently the room is our spare/junk room. It's full of junk and it needs new windows. When we bought the house we skipped doing the windowns in that room because it was just a junk room for 3 years now. I just feel disorganized at the moment. I'm sure it's All in my head.
I didn't see a symptoms thread so I'm posting here. Is anyone else already having a hard time breathing?? I'm only 22 weeks and it feels like he's constantly sitting on my lungs or something. I'll just be sitting still and having to take deep breaths because I feel like I'm losing air. It wasn't this bad until the end with my other 2. It's REALLY bad when I'm active. :-<

Yes it's getting harder to breath for me too. I'm up and down stairs all day at work. It's awesome.
So last night at work was miserable. I have this horrible ache in my stomach that only goes away if im laying down. SO and I work at the same place and have the same job. He was gonna let me go home early and stay for me last night but I was determined to make it through. Immediately after he left I regretted that decision. Bah I don't even know whats going on but I am not worried that it is serious just part of pregnancy because when I asked my doctor at my last visit what amount of pain is normal he told me that any pain that doesn't go away with rest is not good but when I rest the pain is fine but it really sucks. I have been checking the baby with my doppler and the HR is normal. Once last night she was at 180 but it went down and stayed around 150 where she usually is and she is kicking like normal. My mom is convinced that the baby is "turning around" and knowing nothing about pregnancy I don't even know if that happens lol. What she means is that the baby was feet down and now she has decided to flip over and go feet up preparing for delivery. Is this plausible? I really have no idea. It could also just be bad gas pains. I felt so crappy this morning I didn't even get SO up for church. I just let him sleep and decided not to go. I have off the next 2 days so it looks like im gonna be resting it up till Tuesday. Oh boy! Along with trying to get laundry done lol My mom offered to do it for me lol cuz she is awesome but I think I might be able to handle my own laundry lol
Ooo im also excited to get my M15 Secret Santa person!! If you haven't looked at your email yet do it, your person has been emailed to you!!
Have a Great Day Everyone!!

Speaking of elfster, I just looked at my profile and realized it's my old one I've had for a while and a while ago I did a nail polish exchange so for whoever gets me that's why there's a lot of nail items lol. And I just saw who I'm paired up with!! Yay!!
@JNCPro3130 and @cinderella105 My SO and I don't have a big income and we knew that buying stuff for the baby was going to be tight but what I was able to get a few AWESOME scores off of Craigslist. I cant even begin to explain how excited I was. I got one lot of around 150 items like clothes from NB-12 mo plus accessories (bibs, shoes, burp cloths, blankets etc.) for 40$. That one I found off the ads but what I wanted to suggest to you is that you can place an ad on the "Wanted" part of Craigslist for free. I did that and titled it "WANTED: Baby girl clothes NB-12mo and other baby items". Within a week I got like 5 emails from people who had baby stuff they needed to get rid of. All in all I have ended up getting her whole wardrobe plus extras for an entire year for less than 100$. I just asked them to send me a few pictures of everything so I could get an idea of what they had. Good Luck with everything

@chilibeansm0m we are painting the top white and the bottom coral. I have a picture saved to my phone of what we are doing but I don't know why I can't upload pics on mobile.
@lisap0924 we moved into a house that had the same color in every. Single. Room. I hate it. So we are just painting room by room. Don't have much else for the nursery. Aside from the crib we plan on using stuff we already have.
@cinderella105 I'm experiencing the same. Some days are harder than others. I'm talking a painting break bc I'm already tired and out of breath.
27w here too! Which is good because I spent my evening in L&D last night. Oh joy.
After sex Thursday night (always after sex!) I was contracting a bunch on Friday. Then yesterday I was really sore and crampy with low back pain. We are doing the 8hr drive home today, so my m/w wanted me to go in an be checked with my history. Cervix is still long and closed and my FFN was negative, so we finally got home at midnight. Some of the extra irritation may be because the little bugger, after being head down for a month, flipped breech again! Back to prenatal yoga to try to flip him again.
But at least he is still in and we get to drive home today. I cannot wait to be home and stay there until he comes out! No more trips for me.
For others with constipation issues- try apple cider. Every single time I drink a glass I start feeling my belly rumble. I took 2 stool softeners and miralax yesterday and this is finally what helped me go. Thank goodness.
Also good morning lol School work all day starts now. But I'll take a break tonight to decorate the tree. H is putting the lights up outside since it's so nice out today. Yay for December tomorrow!! Getting closer and closer to March ladies!
My H and I just drove almost an hour to Arby's. It was sooooo good. Now to BuyBuyBaby. I officially have more energy today than I did any day during the 2nd trimester.
I don't have much to report on as I'm on my 45th hour of bed rest. :P but a funny:
I think H is on bed rest too. We got up, ate breakfast, watched a survivor rerun, then both promptly fell back asleep for 3 hours :P I actually enjoyed that nap
Got my inside decorated today! Just need to put the tree up but I'm waiting for our doggie pen to come because I just don't trust my dogs anymore. One of them chews on everything when we leave. We will hopefully put the outside lights up today too. Been cleaning like crazy since 8am. With breaks of course.
H and I are gonna tackle target today for our registry. I want to go to motherhood maternity to see if there are any sweaters on sale.
We don't have a ton yet for baby either. We aren't gonna paint the nursery. We did buy the furniture and it will come next Saturday which I'm so excited for. Other than a few little decorative things we don't have anything else for the room. My mom brought us a bunch of clothes and things when she visited, and I went on a shopping spree a couple weeks ago so I'm currently banned from buying any more clothes
Baby's been moving so much more lately! Stronger and stronger which is awesome.
Hope everyone has a great day. I need to go do more but now the couch is so comfy...
@chilibeansm0m it's supposed to rain here today and then off and on again for the next two weeks, so I'm literally sitting in my house waiting for the rain to start. I just want to curl up on the couch with hot cocoa and a good book.
So I'm pretty sure I lost my mucus plug today, forgot to take a pic! Maybe next time. I have been feeling off day which concerns me because that was the only thing I felt before DS is born. Just taking it easy and drinking lots of fluids.
Yikes!! Let's hope it regrows and you start feeling "on" soon!
STMs, or anyone that may have a good idea, what are good slip on type shoes for winter? My boots are getting hard to put on so it won't be long to be nearly impossible. I ended up wearing old slipper shoes with DS to work when that was my only option.
DS is still not feeling better. Well he's a bit better as now he can whine. So all morning he's been whining in pain. I feel so awful for him.
I'm pretty sure I purchased all of the newborn diapers we need this weekend (cloth diapers). So can't wait for them to come in so I can oooh and aahh over the cuteness.
I ordered some of my diapers too. I was just saying to H that I can't wait for them to get here so I can play with them.
@chunkymonkeylvr im assuming so I had terrible MS up until about 20 weeks then the worst of it stopped and only threw up a few more times and now nothing for about 2 weeks until today. Dr. Google has told me that it was normal for MS to stop and then start again like that. Puking is just so damn annoying. And I love hearing from all of my previously pregnant friends plus my mother that "they didn't throw up, not even once, during their pregnancy" well thank you a-holes! haha
March 15' January Siggy Callenge: Animals Being Jerks
I've been so down today, I just feel so meh it's tough but I'm hoping it goes away soon. We did get to pick out our tree, decorate it and put up our other decorations today which was nice. SO was being a jerk earlier and when he was putting the tree in the stand I "accidentally" let the tree fall over on him.
Also add me to the group of hardly having anything for baby which I think is adding to my meh feeling. I'll be home with her and I know she doesn't need much but I like to be prepared and having nothing is stressful for my OCD.
@Chunkymonkeylvr Oh no I hope it regrows and you feel like yourself soon.
@MrsLaurenandDan Hope you get to go home soon and Sam stays put for a few more months.
We put up our Christmas decorations inside and outside plus have bought the majority of our gifts so I feel pretty accomplished. We will hopefully pick up a tree next weekend. The downside is I am feeling a little run down but it's raining today so I'll be hanging out on my couch for the rest of the day.
Hey everybody! Just catching up on the random threads. This weekend, we got the crib set up and the dresser painted, and the house is clean and DH is making turkey soup. We are finally going to put up the tree tonight but probably won't decorate it right away.
I'm not ready for this long weekend to be over, but I only have two more weeks of teaching before my schedule gets much more relaxed (i.e., I don't have to wear real pants).
It finally started raining! Now DH needs to just stop playing video games and work on his homework so I can listen to the rain. But for now, I'm busting out the hot cocoa.
AW moment, I haven't officially announced the name to FB but I think I did here? Strange I know but only family and close friends know the name... BUT the letters came out great!
@etoille I totally had 2 trees when I was living in my mom's house and had the room (and her old tree). This year I have a small tree upstairs that I'll decorate for our loft and then we just got a new tree at a good sale at Michaels, 7 foot. We will put it up next wknd. I must google the itwinkle....
Stopping in because I'm on mobile and couldn't find the thread or see on Elfster when we're actually mailing out the gifts? And were we mailing them directly to our person or another way? Sorry if all this info is somewhere else, my phone failed me..
This weekend H painted our crib and we left it outside to dry. We had no idea it was going to rain! Ugh. This morning the paint was ruined. We have to start over. Total pain in the ass. H is not happy.
