Baby #2

I'm due with my second baby in July. Since my first will only be just under 18 months at the time, I'll likely tentatively just have gotten finished weaning with him. Does anyone have any experience with nursing and pregnancy together? What about that I won't make colostrum? Will that be a problem since I'll likely still be producing mature milk? I know colostrum is pretty important and I haven't been to my first midwife appointment to ask yet and am curious. Thanks in advance!

Re: Baby #2

  • Your body will go back to making colostrum for the new baby. I'm not sure if the switch occurs at the end of pregnancy, or when you deliver the placenta, but it will switch. My friend bf'd through her second pregnancy, and she made colostrum for the new baby. Aren't our bodies awesome?!
