Deciding to TTC

Hello ladies! I don't know if this is where I belong or not. I had success after fet #2 exactly 1 yr ago and had ds in july and he just turned 4 months old. I am here because I feel crazy but I'm already getting baby fever again. I go back and forth a lot because obviously it was such a struggle for us for #1...took over 4 yrs. And also he is only 4 months and such an amazing baby I feel guilty and worried deciding if we should even have anymore.

Anyone else in this situation or been in this? How and when did you decide to move forward? We have 5 frosties left. TIA!

    We started TTC #2 as soon as #1 turned 6 months. I probably would have started sooner but I needed to heal from my csection. BFing also plans a role in making this decision. Most Drs won't let you cycle until you wean.


    TTC#1 for 19 months with PCOS and MFI IUI#3 + injectables = BFP!!!!  Beta#1-134(13dpiui) Beta #2-392(15dpiui)

    We started actively trying when DD was 9 months old, partially cuz that's when my period came back. Also b/c I needed to make sure enough time lasped after my c-section to ensure best possible outcome. As it turns out I got pregnant again when DD was around 15 months old. Which surprised us cuz it took 3 years to get pregnant originally.

    Congratulations on your DD! I understand your mixed feelings on TTC again right now. It is such a tough, personal decision. For us, my Dr. wouldn't cycle us again until 9 mos after DD birth (vaginal delivery) and I had to fully wean her from breastfeeding. Welcome to a wonderful board! Good luck with your decision.

    We know we wanted more than one so it was just about deciding timing for us. I felt strongly about bfing till ds was 1 yr. so we waited till then.

    For ds we only did 2 medicated IUIs. So I figured it would be just as easy. It took 11 medicated cycles and 1 year to be successful. Our twins are now 7 wks old.

    Congratulations on ds and I hope you find the answer you are looking for.
    Diagnosed MFI- low sperm count  
    DS-Born 7/27/11 After 2 years of IF we have our little man
    TTC#2 January 2013
    11 Medicated cycles gave us
    B/G Twins born 10/8/14 @ 32 weeks

    Thank you so much ladies. I am glad I am in the right board :) I stopped BFing a month ago so I am good to go in that department. The tough decision is work also as I am a teacher and missing the beginning of the school year this year was a tough one. I am so nervous to jump right back in to all of the meds again. My goal is to wait until summer but I am feeling the itch now. Ah, not looking fwd to the rollercoaster again!

    We decided to wait until DS turned one before we did any official trying. I got one period after I had him at about 9 mo, and then nothing, so I knew that we would need to go right back to the RE. It was good timing for us in terms of us being ready to try again, it did happen quicker in 4 mo, versus 2 1/2 years to get DS. Which was amazing to me! Welcome and enjoy the time with your new LO!!

    I didn't use any birth control after DD was born hoping for a miracle.  I met with my RE when DD was
    7 months old.  We waited till the fall to cycle again.  Took us 5 fresh IVF cycles to get our daughter so we really weren't expecting much with this cycle.  We were very surprised that it worked.  I have my first u/s on Friday!  DD will be about 21 months when this one arrives.

    And.. congratulations on your daughter and welcome!

Beta #2 2/8/13 - 586! , Beta #3 2/10/13 = 1898. First u/s perfect little heart beat at 116 bpm. Measure 6 weeks 1 day. EDD 10/14/13
    3/4/13 measuring right on track beautiful heartbeat 171 bpm, graduated from RE to OB... bittersweet.

    11/13 beta #1  924!!!  2nd bet 11/15 1906, one more on 11/17 3rd & final beta 3430.  First u/s 12/5, 7w4d, 2 heartbeats,
    both measuring right on track....2nd u/s... all is well... both beans measuring right on track... released from RE... first
    appointment with MFM 1/5.  Looks like this is really happening!

    Thanks so much ladies! We actually have a little boy :) I am trying to pace myself and see if I want to wait a little while longer as things start to get more difficult with him walking and everything. I just hate to think of waiting 4 years again and going through the whold IVF/FET process again but we'll do what we have to!
