TTC After a Loss

Newb Alert!

I'm new here!

Just had my very first pregnancy and MC. Total bummer. DH is upset but doesn't get it. I'm sure you all can understand that.

I guess I don't really know what to say so I'll say this:

My name is Vicki, I'm 26, DH is 24 and will be 25 right after Christmas, and we just got married on 11/1! Conceived on our honeymoon, and lost our little blastocyst on Black Friday. While I'm technically not able to conceive right this second, I would definitely classify us as "TTC." My DH's name is Jim. My fur baby 1 is Scout (pitbull mix, girl) and my fur baby 2 is Drama (bull mastiff, also girl).

My favorite color is gray. My favorite band is The Rolling Stones. Wisconsin is my home. I read, hike, knit, crochet, and basically do a million other crafts. I fell in love with guavaberry coladas in St. Maarten. I am a lover of all animals. If I could live my life in sweats, I would. Love going to the movies and the wine bar. Tea > coffee, but just.

Right now I guess I am just looking for support! Can't seem to look DH in the face without being a weepy brat, so, I've been a bit of a hermit. Which is actually normal for me - total introvert.

Let me know the ropes, gals! Look forward to being supported and supporting!

  • I'm sorry for your loss and welcome! Being fairly new here myself, I "lurked" the board to get a feeling of how to appropriately participate before I posted anything. Read the blog on the top of the board. Also, there is a newbie check in that can be very helpful. The best advice has already been given as far as your period goes wait and test if the need arises. I also experienced spotting after my MC prior to my first normal cycle. Good luck!

  • @rmpar29‌ oh that is incredible! She's basically my life and I've become such a huge advocate of the bully breeds. She's opened many of my family member's eyes to how silly preconceived notions can be! Also.. Hubs and I bought a HUGE bottle of guavaberry rum and took it home. I currently have every intention of drinking many gbcoladas this weekend! Ugh, so magical.
  • I am sorry for your loss but welcome! :)

I have to ask, does the name "Drama" fit your bull mastiff well? Because I have known two in my life and that name would fit perfectly for both lol

Also, we love furbabies here so when you see the furbaby thread, please post up some pics of Scout and Drama!
I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

  • @Nikolie93‌ yes! She is VERY dramatic and also causes a lot of drama. Seeing as I have about 1,000 photos of the fur babies on my phone, it will be my pleasure to post for the fur baby threads!

@jj32‌ it has definitely been difficult. I'm such an introvert that for me, I deal with it alone. And for him, he's very realistic about the situation. But I don't want to hear "we can try again" ONE MORE TIME. I know we can try again. We will. I just want a hug. I told him that, but in much nicer words.

  • Welcome. I am very sorry for your loss. I hope you'll find the comfort and support you need here.

It seems like guys have a harder time understanding what we're going through. My DH has been supportive, but has been over our MMC for awhile now. To him, it was something that happened and it was sad, but it's over now. He says we have no reason to believe it'll happen the next time we TTC. Meanwhile, I'm still not over it and I'm not sure I ever will be.
