  • 1. What kind of carrier(s) have you been using?

Ergo and Maya Wrap ring sling

    2. Learned any new tips/tricks/carries that you care to share? Bonus for PIP

    Not really :P

    3. Things you've come to love or dislike about baby wearing.

He sleeps SO deeply in the ergo. I love the naps I get in there.

    4. A place/situation you wore your baby that helped save you sanity.

Thanksgiving Day with all the noise and overstimulation, DS was fussy by late afternoon. I put him in the carrier and he was instantly happy and quiet.

GTKY: When do you put up your Christmas tree or holiday decorations?

Next weekend!! We usually wait a full week after Thanksgiving and then haul out all the decorations. We will drive up to the mountains to a tree farm and cut our own tree next weekend! :)

    Ergo

    Nothing really

    3. Things you've come to love or dislike about baby wearing.

Like @Emerald27‌ I love how deeply he naps in the Ergo. My hips start to hurt after wearing him a long time.

    4. A place/situation you wore your baby that helped save you sanity.

Yesterday I wore him at the outlet mall and he slept the whole time. Also when trying to cook dinner.

GTKY: When do you put up your Christmas tree or holiday decorations?

The weekend after Thanksgiving. Trying to get some cleaning done today so I can start this afternoon.

  • 1. What kind of carrier?

I like my Infantino Mei Tei. (I was looking for something similar to the Ergo but inexpensive). I also have a K'Tan but it hasn't worked well for us.

    2. Any tips/tricks- for this carrier I just need to take my time to get a secure carry and the right alignment. I'm usually good in two minutes.

    3. Things you love/hate- I love having my hands free so I can still help my two girls. Unfortunately LO has gotten big really fast (almost 15 lbs) so I limit how long I have him in the carrier to save my back.

    4. A place/situation you wore baby that saved your sanity. Hmmm DH always wears him to church and family outings which is a big sanity saver. I've worn him to library story time, the park, etc and it's made it possible for me to get out and about safely on my own with all three kiddos.

GTKY: we decorate any time after Thanksgiving- possibly this weekend. I'm not sure about a tree yet- my 2 and 3 year olds can be so wild.

    1. I use a Maya Ring Sling currently.

    2. No new tips.

    3. I love having my hands free but if I use it for too long, my back starts hurting. Will move to a more supportive carrier when she is 3 months or so.

4.. Baby wearing saves my sanity when being out as C hates being in her car seat. So, once we arrive at our destination, I put C in the sling and she calms down.

GTKY: While I will put up the stocking and decorate the mantle, probably no tree this year due to lack of space. The PnP is where we normally put the tree.

  • @BeanNut‌ Do you like the Mei tei? I'm thinking about getting one. I've been using the k'tan but think I'm in between sizes because dd always slides way down. The Mei tei was recommended to me but I don't know a ton of people who use it

@sabby2, yes I like the mei Tei! As I mentioned, it's important to make sure you take your time and get a good carry. They are only 20-something at Walmart so totally worth it to try.

ETA: this is minor but it looks really cute. I always get compliments when I have him in it.

  • 1. What kind of carrier(s) have you been using?

Boba and Ergo (we have the new Ergo360)

    2. Learned any new tips/tricks/carries that you care to share? Bonus for PIP

No tips but I have discovered that I like the legs out position in the Boba much better.

    3. Things you've come to love or dislike about baby wearing.

We just started trying the ergo last weekend and have been loving it. We use it with the infant insert. I have been using both carriers but DH only uses the Ergo. It's so cute how proud he is to walk around carrying M.

    4. A place/situation you wore your baby that helped save you sanity.

So many places! DH wore her for most of Thanksgiving and she was able to sleep through most of the chaos. We've also been using it at Costco and the grocery store. It's also been saving me during her witching hour when she won't nap. Wearing almost always calms her down and frees up my hands to do other things!

GTKY: When do you put up your Christmas tree or holiday decorations?

We are on our way to buy our tree now and will put it up tonight!

Mei tais are great, but IME, as babies get bigger, they just don't provide enough support for comfortable long wears. I shelf my mei tai early on and switch to a soft structured carrier. That said, some people love their mei tais and wear them even with their toddlers! A lot may depend on the brand. BabyHawk is one that's popular, as is CatBird Baby.

  • What's everyone doing to keep baby and or yourself warm while wearing. I clicked on @beezbeez‌ link and I don't want to spend that much. Anyone have luck with buying a coat a size or 2 larger? We've been using the Ergo and I love it now that I quit using the infant insert.

  • 1. What kind of carrier(s) have you been using?
Moby and Mei Tei.  I really want the new Ergo design with the whales.
    2. Learned any new tips/tricks/carries that you care to share? Bonus for PIP
He prefers to have his legs out.
    3. Things you've come to love or dislike about baby wearing.
    I can get stuff done!
    4. A place/situation you wore your baby that helped save you sanity.
Just around the house so far.  I got 2 loads of laundry washed, dried, folded and put away one day wearing him.
GTKY: When do you put up your Christmas tree or holiday decorations?
We're working on it today.  :)

I wear DH's coat which is big enough on me that I just zip it up over the ergo. :)

  • 1. What kind of carrier(s) have you been using?
    Moby wrap

    2. Learned any new tips/tricks/carries that you care to share? Bonus for PIP
    Kangaroo hold! No picture though.

    3. Things you've come to love or dislike about baby wearing.
Moby is super hot and even baby sweats while wearing it. He also doesn't really enjoy it when he's awake.

    4. A place/situation you wore your baby that helped save you sanity.
Thanksgiving dinner. He slept just long enough for me to seat my dinner.

GTKY: When do you put up your Christmas tree or holiday decorations?
This is my mom's arena this year, but usually we'd do it right after Thanksgiving.

  • Anyone tried the lillebaby? I try my son in it a few minutes everyday and he doesn't like it at all.
