I have Ankylosing Spondylitis, another auto immune issue..... Anyway, about 1/2 way through my pregnancy with A and for about 6 months pp, I was in remission

As far as the impact on my pregnancy, there is some literature to support an association between small birth weight and the severe form of my disease. Both of my boys had IUGR and their placentas were grade 3 and calcifying in early 3rd tri. My OB didn't really know anything about the link, but I was getting monitored because of a multiples pregnancy anyway. From everything I've seen, it's not all that uncommon to have IUGR in one twin, but a diagnosis in both twins in a di di pregnancy is more unusual. Everything did turn out fine and they didn't have a NICU stay, but the boys were under 5 lbs at birth. I would ask for late term monitoring if I were lucky enough to get pregnant again.
FX none of this matters anyway because you are in for a smooth and uneventful (but very happy and healthy!) nine months.

@Ruthie04 - thank you for sharing your experience with an autoimmune disease in pregnancy. I'm going to put it out there that my Sjogren's symptoms have stayed the same so far. My ANAs have not budged, and my NK activity has gotten worse... ARGH!! But you know what? We're doing everything we can. I am going to put my faith in the situation that we'll be ok.
