I've had a problem with nausea during my pregnancy, but it's worst when I brush my teeth. I can't help but vomit each and every time! Anyone else had this? x
Yes!! I figured out it was the mint taste so I went out and bought toddler crest brand bubble gum flavor tooth paste. It has princess characters all over it I haven't puked from the toothpaste since.
My SIL told me she used to get really sick if she brushed her teeth so she started taking her toothbrush etc. to work with her and brushing after she got to work. She said leaving it until later in the morning made a huge difference.
Of course, that would only work if you have already told your boss/co-workers. Otherwise you become the weird chick who brushes her teeth at work.
Had the same problem with my first. I would have to take breaks for deep breaths. Forget brushing my tongue. This might not work but smelling something sweet helped me. I would smell a piece of hard candy or cherry sucker. Weird.

Yup makes me vomit everytime. Hate it. I've read that it's especially important to take care of your teeth during pregnancy so just have to deal with it but ooooh it sure does suck big time!
So glad I'm not the only one! I dread brushing, especially in the morning, because of the dry heaving or vomiting. I usually end up in tears by the end of it. I'll try the toothpaste flavor change as well, but for me I think it's the muscle in the back of my throat as my mouth is open. Also the action of spitting seems to trigger my muscles to spasm. Moms who have been through this before....how long before it went away? I'm 13 weeks 2 days and soooo over this part of it!!! Good luck everyone!
For me, I'm not sure if it's the minty taste. It seems to be the feeling of the foam in my mouth. Brushing my tongue (which I did every day before being pg) is a complete no-no!!!
