Grovia magic stick

I just read that grovia magic stick should not be used at every change as it could cause repelling issues? I was under the impression it was cd safe -- can anyone advise? Thanks!

Re: Grovia magic stick

  • I have never heard this. Care to share your source?

I mostly just keep Magic Stick in the diaper bag because it's easy to apply when out and about, and use CJ's or Waxelene at home. I wouldn't hesitate to use it all the time, though, if that was all that was available to me.

I imagine it could cause repelling if you were caking it on, but the way the stick is designed, it's pretty hard to do that.

  • I use the magic stick fairly frequently, and the past week at almost each change because LO had a bit of a rash. I've never noticed an issue - it's our go to diaper balm.

  • Thanks for your input! I read it on the green mountain diapers site on the magic stick description page...
  • Odd. Well, it's been a regular part of our routine for 2+ years and we've never had a repelling issue. I think beeswax can build up if it's used too thickly, and if you are not washing hot enough -- we've had some wax build up on some clothing, but we typically don't wash those with hot water.
  • We regularly use the magic stick, too. The only problem we've has is shadow staining on fleece pockets.
