To return or not to return?

When I was looking at cribs a friend pointed out that another mutual friend had offered her a crib mattress. She never took her up on the offer so she suggested I text her about the mattress. I did and she said she would love to give it away because its been sitting there taking up space and she had no intentions of having more kids.

Well, i just found out she's pregnant. *sigh* Do I return the mattress to her? She has not asked for it, but its stuck in the back of my head. What would you do?

I would contact her and say congratulations and ask her if she would like the mattress back and then see what she says.

@shootznladrz‌ thats what I was thinking. Its been bothering me for a week now, I dont think I would feel okay not offering it back to her.

@TikTak‌ Im all about the free, I dont have much interest in a new mattress personally.

Contact her and ask her if she wants it back. I just think its the most decent thing to do.

Came across this post and saw the concerns about a used crib mattress which has me worried. My husbands boss had offered us theirs. According to my husband it is barely used and he isn't concerned. The anxious person in me of course is worried. Any thoughts?

@5feetshort‌ im not concerned.

But Im a firm believer in "go with your gut," if the idea of a used mattress doesnt sit right with you then just spend the $60 for peace of mind.

@ruemorgan‌ makes sense to me. I was thinking we could take the mattress and see what it looks like as far as condition and go from there.
