My baby is one and I need a distraction for diaper changes. Anyone recommend any of the toy smart phones? Of course he always wants my iPhone so maybe his own would help.
We have a leap frog or vtech one - whoever makes My Pal Scout. It's Scout talking on it. He loves it.
We were also given an old display LG phone. It has no inner workings. It is just to get a feel for the phone to decide if you want to buy it. I had to buy a new phone (DS threw mine off the change table and we don't have a landline or non-cell internet). When I was purchasing it, my friend at the cell phone store gave us that old one for DS because it was old and they didn't display/use that one anymore. He loves it. This might be an option to look at. Stores might let you buy old ones. Not sure.
I gave my baby my husbands old blackberry. Best Pinterest tip I ever read was to save your old phones for your babies.
Don't know if it works the same in the states or not (I live in Canada). I read a news article about parents giving a young boy with autistism a smart phone. The phone ended up making dozens and dozens of 911 calls. As I read further, the parents had taken the Sim card out and I'm.pretty sure the phone was dead. It is still possible to call emergency services. Now DH is a huge tech-y and he told me he didn't think that could happen. I told him, I don't know, but I read it on CBC news. (It was over a year ago, so I don't have the article handy)

We took the battery out of it. (It had expanded & seemed dangerous) so it doesn't light up so she's not super thrilled with it. I think we still have an old HTC laying around too.
Plus I just for her this case so my old iPhone can plug right in & she can't damage it with her drool for Christmas.
