Amazon fire stick? Chrome cast?

Does anyone have a device to watch Amazon prime and Netflix on the tv? Which one? Pros/cons? I'm thinking of having DH get me one for Hanukkah, mostly to take advantage of our Amazon prime. Any advice? I have a Samsung smart tv about 4 years old if that makes a difference.

  • We have Chromecast and I don't think it's compatible with the Amazon Instant Video player yet.

  • That's a good reason to stick with Amazon, thanks!
  • Can you download apps on your TV? We have a smart tv and have amazon and Netflix apps already on it.

  • I have the Netflix app on the tv. There isn't an Amazon one and I don't see a way to add it. Maybe I just don't know what I'm doing.
  • I'll check at naptime, thanks! I'll be so excited to save the $ but also kicking myself for not asking months ago. :\">
  • I just checked and I have 9 pages of apps under video. Amazon is not one of them :(
  • Hm, I don't really remember the year, but that's probably it. Ok, going for the fire!
  • I hate our chromecast with a fiery passion that will never die. You should do anything else in the world besides buy one. The no-remote thing turns out to be much more annoying than I expected, it drops signal constantly, I can't get video to pause or unpause half the time, I can't watch amazon prime... Hate. I should look into fire stick.
