AW: Fire isn't fun

So today started out as a quiet, get some chores done kind of day. After drinking a couple cups of coffee & breeding a cow, H & I starting cleaning the house. By early afternoon, we took a break and were catching up on some football. We heard a truck coming up the drive; H got up & looked out the window. He yells the pasture is on fire. I looked out the window before running after him and all I could see was smoke.

We were able to pen all the fall cows and calves quickly. Then it was frantic trying to fight it whike waiting for the fire dept but the wind was blowing ~25mph so there wasnt alot we could do.

We were extremely lucky. The fire came within a couple feet of the cattle pens, 10 feet of our stock trailer and 10 ft of our hay stack. It burned close to 60 acres. Scary times.

Oh and fuck people who throw cigarettes out the car window. We're pretty sure thats what stared it.

    Oh that sounds so scary.  People throwing cigarettes out their windows gives me major road rage.  I'm glad no one was injured!

    BFP #2 December 17, 2013! MMC discovered Jan. 28, 2014, D&C Jan. 30, 2014
    Testing done: male with complete Trisomy 16, not hereditary. Tested me for clotting disorders, all normal.
    Feb. 2014 all clear again to TTC!  Will start progesterone supplementation with the next BFP just in case.       Oct. 2014 more testing just because, thyroid and autoimmune panels = normal.  Diagnostic U/S = no abnormalities.  Will keep trying for 3-6 more months, doctor still optimistic!

    BFP #3 December 11, 2014!  Beta #1 14DPO = 122.4 Beta #2 17DPO = 296.8 Please stick little one and be our Rainbow!

            Perfect little heartbeat of 156 seen 1/7/15 :)

    2nd and last IVF cycle August 2015, stimmed for 12 days, 2 egg retrieved, both mature and both fertilized.  Transferred both 8-cell embryos on Day 3, beta 9/5/15 = BFFN

    Married since Dec 2010. TTC since Feb of 2014. 

    **BFP#1 Feb 20th. EDD October 28th, 2014. MC March 20th (7.5 wks) D&C.

     Heard both babies heartbeats @6w3d, 122bpm and 100bpm. Will never forget that sound!

    @kittymeowbark‌ and @Frenchteachermama‌ - the land will be fine. Fire is actually beneficial to the ground in a lot of ways. It clears off dead stuff and weeds & puts lots nutrients in the soil. So while it sucks now next spring that will probably be the prettiest pasture we own.

    Geez! That's terrible. I'm glad no one or livestock was hurt. Cigarette fires are the worst, I was driving on the highway once and saw a truck completely ruined/burned from that same little cigarette, ughhh.

    OMG!  I'm so glad that you, DH and all of your cows/calves are safe.  I cannot stand people that throw their cigarettes for others to deal with.  Just disgusting!  I'm so sorry that this happened and I hope karma comes back around for the person that threw that cigarette.
