Another car seat question

Hi all and happy holidays! As I'm sure most of you, I am trying to figure out which convertible car seat to get for LO. Is it really necessary to get one that turns into a booster and accommodates up to 100lbs? There seems to be a pretty good price difference between those and ones that only go up to 65 pounds (I'm assuming they don't convert to a booster?). TIA! ETA of course I'm assuming with those only going to 65 lbs I would have to buy a booster (not sure if this is more cost effective)

  • It's totally up to you and your family's needs. We didn't get one that turns into a booster because we're hoping to have another baby in the next couple of years, so then the next LO can use the convertible and we will just buy a regular booster for our A14 LO.

  • 65 lbs should be plenty, if they still need a booster after that those basic boosters cost like 20$.
  • I don't think it's worth the money to buy a convertible that also works as a booster, unless you find an awesome deal.

And, as others have said we might have another LO soonish, so that one could use the infant seat/convertible when Liam goes to a booster (still 3+ years down the road....)

  • After seeing what my seats look like after just a few years, I'd rather pay the $20 when they get to that point. Crumbs, spilled milk, spit up etc.. ew.
