Ok so I'm 7dpo right now cycle day 18.. I had a positive OPK 7 days ago... I took an IC OPK on accident I meant to take a PT .. But the line literally came up within seconds it was soo dark and so quick then I noticed it was an OPK (ughhhhh) I feel different I have never been pregnant before so I've never really had symptoms but I feel so weird the past couple days .. I'm soo tired and my body is aching almost like the flu I have terrible heartburn which I never get .. So for that to last the past four days is crazy.. I don't have cramping but more like awkward popping .. Other than that nothing else.. I have stage 4 endo and I have been trying for 3 years.. I took a test and got a BFN .. Anyone else ever have anything like this .. Crazy fast and dark OPK cd18/ 7dpo ? What did it mean for you? Thanks ladies
Re: Positive OPK CD18?????
1. That is a really long paragraph.
2. How do you know you are 7dpo? Are you charting your basal body temperature? OPKs just tell you that you have a LH surge. You may or may not ovulate after a positive OPK.
3. Symptoms mean nothing without a positive HPT. If you are pregnant enough for symptoms you would turn a test.
4. 7DPO is too early to test positive on an HPT. Implantation takes place between 6-10DPO and it takes a few days after that for HCG to be present.
5.These kinds of rants/Dear Diary types of things belong in either the TWW or WTO threads.
6. Take a few deep breaths, you might feel better after.
So if you got a +OPK 7 days ago, it is more likely that you are 6dpo OR you just had an LH surge and now you're having another one. It is far far far less likely that this +OPK has anything to do with pregnancy, if that's what you were hoping to hear.
Read the newbie blog and learn more about your cycle. It can help you avoid the guessing game about ovulation and the TWW.
Read the newbie blog (the one titled READ THIS BEFORE POSTING), get a BBT thermometer, download the fertility friend app, and breathe.
As for your two positive OPK's, like pp's said, it's possible to have more than one LH surge in a cycle. A positive OPK =/= ovulation. Temping is the only way to confirm ovulation.
ETA: I was thinking of a different post, so I guess you didn't already receive these answers. But you're getting good advice that you should take!
An opk will be positive when you are pregnant, but a hpt will turn positive several days before the opk will. There's no point in trying to guess whether or not symptoms or a pos opk means you're pregnant. The only way to know is to get a positive on a pregnancy test. So what's the point of trying to figure it out when there's no way to know, before you can take a pregnancy test? Also, pregnancy tests are very very sensitive. If your symptoms are truly from pregnancy, then the test will be positive.
Finally, even if you ovulated on CD 10 (which is pretty early) you'd only be 7-8 dpo which is too early to show on an hpt, an opk or give you symptoms. But good luck!
