Cloth Diapering

Bamboo Flushable Liners

So talk to me about flushable liners... Do you still need an insert with them? How exactly do they work?

  • It depends on what you mean when you say "flushable liner".

If you're talking about a flushable liner meaning a disposable insert used to line the inside of a cover then that is all you need.  (Think disposable inserts made by gdiapers or bumgenius.)

If you mean the flushable liner that looks more like a large thin piece of tissue, then yes you will need an insert with it.  Those liners are meant to either make cleaning up poo easier, or to be used if you're using a diaper cream that isn't cloth diaper safe.

I didn't think disposable inserts were safe to flush. Is there a kind that is?

  • gdiapers are supposedly flushable.  Doesn't seem like a good idea to me though.
