I have 3 girls & 1 boy & I dont think I can tell you anything better about girls than boys, they are all pretty awesome little people! Congratulations on your first baby!
We like to dress ours up & take her moose hunting. I mean she struggles with the silent aspect of hunting but seriously loves the great outdoors. Also baby camo is freaking cute.
I only have 1 kid, a 20 month old Daughter so I really can't compare. But I adore her. And I have lots of friends with boys. My friends are so envious that my daughter will sit and color a picture for 20 minutes or she will go to Starbucks with me so I can drink coffee for 45 minutes and she will happily sit there drink her milk and wave at all the other customers. While my friends with boys say their son will not sit still for 1 minute, they are constantly running, crashing things, dumping out toy bind etc... Yes this is a gender stereotype that might not always be true but for my and my friends kids it holds up.
But no matter what, you'll be in love with your baby!
I'm confused at the problem. Maybe I'm in a thanksgiving happy day haze but she asked about raising a girl because she is having a girl not because she thinks it's easier or that boys are bad. I've seen this question asked a lot here.
I find the question funny, because what is our experience with our female children really going to tell you. Every kid is different regardless of gender. We all have different "experiences" with our children. I don't think you are going to gather very helpful info here.
Oh and a big "Mmm YA OKAY" to little girls being precious little flowers that sit still and never dump a bin of toys. If that wasn't so offensive it would be funny. But you know, just a gender stereotype, you'll love your baby no matter what!!!!eleventy.
I have one of each as well and they are equally awesome.
My DD is sweet and sassy and so much fun. She is a girly girl and loves playing dress up and making art projects. She also can be quite fresh and has the attitude of a teenager.
You never know what you will get - she could be girly or tomboyish or sporty or a diva. ALL babies & kids are awesome though and all bring wonderful experiences!
I will say that potty training my 2 girls was a hell'va lot easier than potty training my 1 boy has proved to be. But I think thats due to personally differences, not gender differences

Potty training my DD was an absolute nightmare that lasted about a year. I really hope for a better experience with my son when the time comes.

I still have 1 girl to go, so I'm sure I just jinxed myself
A friend once said the difference with girls is she has to worry about 100s of penises, with boys she just has to worry about one.
By worry, she simply meant to give parental guidance about. Probably kinda offensive, but just an absurd observation I had bouncing around my memory. Congrats on the baby!
With girl babies you get to clean poop out of a tiny vagina instead of cleaning it off tiny testicles. Enjoy!
Tiny testicle wrinkles are really hard to get poop out of.

There’s a lightningin your eyes I can't deny Then there’s me inside a sinkingboat running out of time Without you I'll never make it out alive But I know, yes, I know we’ll be alright

Super offensive. What if your boy likes penis?

Vulva.
(Before anyone else goes there)
Well if you're cleaning it OUT, it could be vagina. Lol
My daughter is so boyish it's kind of hilarious. She does like pink, hearts, and rainbows, but otherwise, BOY. One of the best parts about raising her is seeing who she really is and what she really likes, seeing that part of her shine. Whether it's watching her being rambunctious and riding the skateboard down the slide (that happened, on her bottom at least), or discovering how much she really likes spooky things and scary movies, or watching her problem solving skills develop, it is awesome being her mom! And if you're lucky, someday your little princess will sit in the bathtub and tell you she wants a penis, so can you please get her the glue and the tape?
DD was in the bathroom with us as dh got out of the shower and said" some people's bodies stick out but mine doesn't." Dh was like huh? And I had to explain that she was referring to penises.
Pro's to a girl: I know how girls pee and how to explain a period. Teaching someone to pee standing up would take some research.
As others have said, it's hard to shield them from stereotypes - dd is not yet 3 and already tells me certainthings are for boys, etc. I'm sure this is true for boys too but it seems like sometimes even relatively gender neutral thing (legos for example) are perceived as for boys.
That being said, ive never seen a happier human being than dd the first time she put on a cinderella dress so you gotta let them do what they love even if it's a stereotype.

We took DS out to eat all the time and he would sit nicely in his high chair the whole time, eat, and observe his surroundings. DD would typically never make it through half a meal without needing to sit on our laps. It has much more to do with individual temperament than sex.
@acesup amazing mistake. I feel like harry is here to tell everyone it's ok to be yourself and don't worry about gender stereotypes! Not that important!
Tonight at Thanksgiving my MIL brought my nephews old matchbox cars for DS. My DD was very interested too and was excited to take them home. MIL said "no, these are for your brother because cars are a boys toy". Really MIL? I just said "girls can play with cars just like boys can play with dolls".
My son was/is quiet, calm and very neat. My daughter is, well, as we speak she's trying to spin on her head with no clothes on while knocking down a side table and keeps telling me to smell her butt while she spreads her ass cheeks. Such a delicate flower she is.
Re: Best things about raising a girl
Girls are the bombdiggity!
Sarcasm.
Dude, babies are babies. Enjoy your new love when she gets here!
Congrats!

Sigh. Constant battle.
