Re: C-Section Check In
I'm feeling about 75-80% back to normal.
I just had to share that the C-Panty is worth every penny! I am wearing it for the first time today. Today I took off the tape from my incision and then put on the C-Panty for the first time. It is so soothing and makes me feel better than I have the past few weeks down there. I've never felt pain at my incision but I had soo much pain in my lower abdomen right above the incision (it felt like they used it as a punching bag) that I stayed an extra day at the hospital.
My pelvis and hips are still healing ...oh and stopped taking pain meds at week 2. Going up stairs made me cry the first two times but today I was able to do it without wincing so that's an accomplishment!
I'm not sure if it helped, but I had a dressing called a Pico dressing. It's a vaccuum sealed dressing. I had a pump that sucked the free air out keeping a constant pressure at the incision. That dressing came off 1wk after surgery. I went by my work office & had steri strips placed as a precautionary measure.
My advice, try not to over-do it at first. I felt fine when I got home. A day of stairs and going to Walmart, I was sore. Listen to your body

I'm feeling ok. I can't pick my 17 month old up and it's killing me. I cry about it daily. Physically, my incision is still sore but I'm doing good otherwise.
Nothing that helped with recovery. Recovery this time has been a lot harder. I think its because I have a toddler and we are still trying to sell our house which means I have to get the house ready for showings constantly and that's very difficult but I have to do it.
Nothing I'm proud or excited about. I'm still I'm the baby blues fog.
How are you feeling? Wayyyy better than I anticipated. Sore and I'm still not able to do a whole lot but everyday is better.
Is there anything that has especially helped you during surgery recovery? So far I've only been out of the hospital one day. So it's hard to say. My husband has been amazing - I cannot sing his praises enough. He does everything for me.
What challenges have you been dealing with? It was hard in the hospital to not be able to help with Brooke as much as DH was. I felt kind of useless.
Anything you're excited about or proud of? Just happy my recovery is going well so far and everyday seems better than the last.
How are you feeling? A lot better!!! The first few days were pretty rough due to a few issues I've been having!
Is there anything that has especially helped you during surgery recovery? My husband!!! He has been doing everything around the house & getting things for me so I don't have to get up much or climb stairs.
What challenges have you been dealing with? The biggest thing that I'm still dealing with us a numb/tingling right foot from nerve damage from the spinal. It is hard to walk comfortably & it is absolutely driving me insane!!! I still have a bruise & a little pain from where they did the spinal, so hopefully as that heals, I will get feeling back to my foot & soon!!
Other challenges I had were I lost a lot of blood during the csection & had major bruising...like from my incision all the way down, it was blank & purple & SCARY! It is clearing up well though. I also popped a blood vessel the night I got home & that caused some more bruising across my abdomen to my hip! I also have a hematoma next to my incision.
Anything you're excited about or proud of? I think I've handled everything pretty well & am just glad I have a perfect, healthy baby!!
How are you feeling? My incision area is still a little sore and numb, but otherwise I feel pretty good.
Is there anything that helped you during recovery? Honestly, getting off the narcotic pain meds. They made me feel so loopy and queasy. I definitely found recovery smoother without them.
What challenges have you been dealing with? I got anemia from the C-Section, and was originally put on iron supplements. My body wasn't able to absorb the supplements fast enough, so I ended up getting a blood transfusion last week. Thankfully feeling much more like myself since the transfusion!
Anything you're excited or proud of? I guess I'm proud of successfully taking care of 2 newborns while recovering from surgery?
It's twin girls!! Born on 11-2-14!

Mom to Richard 7.24.05, Ava 3.27.08, Isabella 5.19.09 & Timothy 10.22.14
How many weeks Post surgery are you? 2 +2
How are you feeling? I'm feeling really good right up until I over do it and then need to rest the next day. I tend to forget I'm post surgery.
Is there anything that has especially helped you during surgery recovery? My hospital gave me a pregnacy girdle to help hold everything in place and support the muscles. It's amazing what it feels like when I don't wear it.
What challenges have you been dealing with? Not being able to lift things. I feel somewhat trapped since DD in her car seat is too heavy for me to carry, so we don't go anywhere while DH is at work.
Anything you're excited about or proud of?
DH has been awesome and constantly steps up and reminds me to take it easy. I'm also proud of being off pain meds within the first week.
