Gender at NT scan

Hello all! I had my 12 week scan a few days ago. Doctor said he is 98% sure my little one is a baby boy! Please let me know what you think! I am so very excited but I do not want to get my hopes up. I have heard of mistakes this early but it is hard not to see the boy parts.

  • I wouldn't paint the nursery.

  • Thank you for the sincere reply.
  • I had my scan this morning and my ultrasound tech said at this point baby boys and girls look the same (as pp's have said)

I'd say there's a 50% chance that your tech is right and it's a boy.
  • I had an ultrasound last week at 11.5 weeks- my doctors have insane high tech machines. We looked at the genitals with the ultrasound tech and they both looked like little dinkys ( im having twins) she said they all look like that this early but some people say if it looks like it's pointing up its a girl and if it looks like it's pointing down its a boy, it's more just for fun to guess and she said not to take anything she says literally. Congrats on your pregnancy!
  • Wow I am sorry to have caused so much annoyance. Congratulations on your pregnancies and best of luck. For the record, a perinatologist with 20 years of experience was the doctor who made the "guess" and there have been studies stating that sex can be determined at 12 weeks. Again, sorry my post has annoyed so many.
  • I can't really tell what I'm looking at here, but I guess it's your kid's junk? On the internet?
    Coffee Bean Born 6/13/15.
    2nd round exp 8/20/18.
    Meow.
  • I'm going next Saturday to a place called baby bungalow to find out what we are having. I'll be a little over 13 weeks. It's like a specialty place. We want to know early because dhs grandfather isn't doing well and he asks us everyday when we will find out because he wants to know before it's his time to go. I'd personally rather wait to find out until we have the baby but if we can give his grandpa that then we will.
  • I am sorry for your situation, Karissa. I understand the gender curiosity. I lost my father very unexpectedly at the age of 60 while ttc. That is the reason I am excited for a boy baby (both would be a blessing). I wish you best of luck and a healthy happy pregnancy.
  • @jniotis‌ I'm very sorry for your loss:( I can totally understand why you are hoping for a little boy! I wasn't trying to say your doctor was wrong- only telling you what my experience was. I hope he was right and that you are indeed having a little boy :)

I totally get wanting to have a boy in honor of a family member. I lost my brother, who was my only sibling, 2 years ago when he was 19. I want a baby boy so bad. We lost our twin sons in July of this year when I was 19 weeks pregnant. So the want and need for a boy is definitely there! I will be happy with a healthy baby! I hope you have a healthy baby no matter what you are blessed with!
  • Thank you Karissa and Emily! Karissa I am very sorry for your loss. I have the same feelings as you. It would be great to name a baby boy after our lost loved ones but either sex is a blessing and our angels will be smiling down on us.
