Progesterone suppositories

edited November 2014 in July 2015 Moms
hey everyone. I'm using vaginal progesterone suppositories with this pregnancy after having a miscarriage a few months ago... Anyone else using them and grossed out as I am? Panty liners are a must at all times even though I'm putting these in at night. So ready and hopeful for 12 weeks so I can be done with them. Any advice or experience?

Re: Progesterone suppositories

  • Yep. Been on them for a little over 3 weeks now. In the beginning I was way grossed out.  Now it's just the new normal.  I stop at 10 weeks.  I had a lot of cramping, but that went away within 2 weeks.  They're really not all that bad, and so worth it.

  • I've been on them for 4 weeks. They're gross but definitely worth it. Definitely a little self conscious with it and being intimate with hubby. Lol
  • I am 6w5d by the way... And I've been on them for close to 2 weeks. Yes getting used to them and my bubbly pee (so weird and you probably think I'm crazy if you don't have it?). It is definitely killing any desire for intimacy on my side. :-/
  • Lol I know what you mean with the bubbly pee.

I'm on 400 mg per day. 200mg in the morning and 200mg at night. I get so much gunk built up (TMI I know) that I have to give myself a good cleaning each day when I shower. Lol
  • I take my orally.

I am on 200 mg at night.  I am thankful it isn't a suppository!

    Everyone Welcome

  • @jjbmstinco‌ you are oh so lucky! Lol
  • I have a friend's sister who had to do it 3x day and she said that was pretty bad. I am only once a day. Yeah... The gunk is definitely not an attractive side effect. I'll do anything I can to have a healthy pregnancy just wish it involved flowers and pretty things instead of feeling like there is white discharge that never goes away.
  • I'm on them too

  • I'm on the intramuscular progesterone injections...those suck! I'll take suppositories any day over those but I'm having to take an estrogen suppository as well.

I take the shots, and at this point my ass is super sore from the injections. I started developing nods at the injection sides as well as major bruising. The suppositories leak out of me the whole day. There was a day when they leaked through my clothes!!! So embarrassing. And those little round pills are so hard to swallow. Gotta love those progesterone supplements.
