Trouble TTC a Sibling

S/A question

At what point did your H get an S/A? My OB doesn't think it is necessary at this point. Nothing has changed with him health wise since having DD 3.5 years ago. I did get pg again, so obviously there are some swimmers working. There is a plan moving forward with me that I feel good about, I was just second guessing if this is something I should ask about.

Re: S/A question

  • DH got one with all of the testing the first month we were seeing the RE. She said she new that he had sperm because of DS, but she wanted to see how many, mobility, etc. She also said that blockages could occur. She highly doubted it, but wanted to check just to get the full picture of what we were working with.

  • @dani_brewer there is nothing that makes me think he needs one. There just isn't a clear issue with me either. I'm starting Progesterone for a shortish LP starting next month. I feel good about the plan, but I've heard others say H should have a s/a before I go the medication route.

  • It wouldn't hurt. My DH had to pay out of pocket for his because insurance didn't cover it and it was really low, like less than $50. That seems cheap for peace of mind.
