Bicornuate Uterus? Prayers needed.

Hey ladies. I went to the ER the other day for slight bleeding. Fortunately, the baby is doing well, and bleeding has stopped but I was diagnosed with a Bicornuate Uterus.

Does anyone else have this? I understand it's pretty rare, and has "high risk" written all over it (miscarriage, preterm labor, birth complications...the works). But my husband and I are just looking for hope for our little one. I'm hoping to find moms who have delivered successfully with this.

Thoughts and prayers would be really appreciated. Thank you!

I had a friend who recently gave birth who was diagnosed with a bicoriate uterus. In the beginning she was warned of all the possible negative outcomes that could happen. She had a completely normal pregnancy otherwise without complication and baby was born healthy full term. T&Ps for you.

Hi there- happy to hear the baby is doing well! Did you have a chance to talk to your regulat ob about it? I have a mild bicornate uterus and my re and ob are not worried about it at all. Sometimes ER docs can be a bit blunt so hopefully your ob will put your mind at ease. Lots of people have totally healthy pregnancies with a heart shaped uterus!

Thankfully yes! We officially have a whole team of regular and High Risk OBs tracking the baby to make sure everything is ok, which is great. But my Type A personality is really eager to find out what our chances are.

Haha, I think that's what it was. The ER doctor made it seem terrifying, and when she returned to find me crying she said "oh no, did I scare you?" Um. Of course you did! Haha.

But what you said is really comforting. Thank you so much!

My coworker was just telling me that her daughter has this! She is due in January, but they think she may have the baby in December, as the little guy might run out of room. Everything has gone pretty smoothly for her so far. Good luck!

Praying for a healthy pregnancy!!! There is a wonderful woman on YouTube that documented her entire pregnancy abs she had the same bicornate uterus. Search for "bumps along the way" on YouTube or Miss Lanning

Thank you so much everyone! All the support and encouragement has been a huge help - and now that it's been a few days, I'm starting to feel a lot better. And I'll definitely look that YouTube up! First hand accounts are awesome, and definitely help us stay hopeful as we take this just one day at a time.

Only time I know of that a mom had this (I was just taking care of the baby) she had to have a C/S. But it was a healthy, uneventful pregnancy and delivery.

I was going to ask about this yesterday. My doctor said I had a slight heart-shaped uterus. This is my second and I didnt know until a quick peek at the doctors on.monday. there are varying degrees. Ask questions to understand, but it doesn't mean the end, just that you will be watched. I hope the rest of your pregnancy is uneventful and you and baby stay happy and healthy!

Hi there i have a bicornuate uterus, i got an ultrasound of it before i fell pregnant and it is a perfect heart shape. I found out that I had a bicornuate uterus because i have had to have ivf. I'm currently 7weeks pregnant and have an ultrasound tomorrow which i'm really scared about incase the baby has implanted in the wrong place or something. I have been told that i will have to be monitored throughout the pregnancy due to the risk of misscarriage or early labor but i have read lots about this and plenty of women go all through pregnancy without even knowing that they have this problem. So i try to stay positive and hopeful that everything will be ok xxx

I'm 8 weeks now and already had 2 echography... We found out i have a bicornuate uterus. My OB told us not to care too much about it, normal utérus can also have problems ... She explains us that risks are not a lot higher. Good luck.

I just got a call from my OB and was told I to have a heart shaped uterus. I'm being sent to a specialist to make sure it isn't split with tissue because I seem to have "cavities" in my uterus. I'm currently 8 weeks 4 days with 2 previous miscarriages. How's your pregnancy going so far? Hope everything goes well.

I'm going through the same thing and am also due In July!! This is my first so it was a shock to hear that I had basically 2 uteruses and all the complications -but I'm trusting God. And I'm grateful to know I'm not alone!!
