1. I'm up early. I really want to night (and early morning) wean Ash, but I cave every night/morning. This is going to be tough. I'm thinking maybe I can wait until the holidays when I will be off work. Blah.
2. Work and life are so incredibly bust right now that I feel like I'm not around as often. I do try to keep up and read everything, but don't always get a chance to respond. Will try to do better.
3. I'm really happy to have a short work week, but I have so much work to do in the next 2 days. I have a feeling I will need to do some work over the break. At least my parents will be here to help with Ash.
4. Any objections to having our PIP thread tomorrow? Folks will probably be busy on Thursday and I totally want to AH some birthday pics.
5. I can't believe we're only 6 months out from TTC #2. Those of you who have your kids closer together, bless you. I don't know how you do it. We're running around like crazy all the time.
6. Overall, I know Z and I are great moms, but it's little things that make me feel like I suck. Like, I haven't gotten Ash a stocking yet and I rely wanted him to have his lifelong stocking for Christmas this year. Must order this week!
7. I haven't made any more progress on Ash's first year baby/photo book. Sigh. Maybe by the time he graduates?
8. Ash is doing well in the toddler class. I did find out that the teacher was putting him in a highchair to eat instead of letting him eat at the table with the other kids after I specifically requested that he eat at the table. They wanted to keep him separate because we bring his food from home and they didn't want him accidentally eating the school food. I politely explained to the teacher that I wanted him to have the experience of eating with the other children and that if he happened to sneak a bite or two of the school food, it wasn't a big deal.
9. I haven't run in a couple weeks. I really need to make that happen this weekend.
10. I'm super excited for cooking Thanksgiving dinner this Friday! I'm trying a new recipe - butternut squash, Brussel sprout, and apple stuffing. Yum!
6. Overall, I know Z and I are great moms, but it's little things that make me feel like I suck. Like, I haven't gotten Ash a stocking yet and I rely wanted him to have his lifelong stocking for Christmas this year. Must order this week!
don't feel bad- my mom made my stocking when i was very little. my (twin) sister's got finished when she was 33. and only because my mom didnt hear the end of it for all those years.... LOL
1. I need to come up with a toddler-and-parent-friendly make-ahead dish to bring to a dinnertime potluck holiday party at daycare. I'll be coming straight from work so something room-temp or refrigerated is best. Any ideas?
2. My sister is finishing up a hat she's knitting for B and then it's holiday card photo shoot time! Hopefully this weekend. I can't wait.
3. My sister is likely getting engaged sometime in the next 6 months and last night we were chatting with her about potential wedding plans. Looks like I'm going to be a bridesmaid again, folks. Bleh. At least I trust her to pick a nice dress. And B will be ring bearer, which is going to be off-the-charts cute.
4. I want to eat all the things today. And I'm sitting next to a basket of leftover Halloween candy. Must. be. strong.
5. Last farmer's market of the year! Sad.
6. I'm so glad my new avatar is showing up! (per @ATXMommas anyway). I changed it last night but it's still showing my cat for me. My wife was using my computer the other day and I was logged in to TB. She said, "I can't believe you are still using Scout as your picture!" (We put Scout down in June 2013). So I changed it. I like this one better anyway!
7. I think B took cute pills overnight. Not that he isn't always cute, but this morning he was being extra smiley and adorable. Sometimes he makes it damn hard to go to work!
8. A friend from college is going to be in the area for Thanksgiving and we are getting together on Friday. I'm super excited -- haven't caught up in years.
9. Right now I'm reading "Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking." So far, really interesting -- though as a self-identified introvert, I may be a little biased.
10. I agree with the idea to have PIP Thursday on Wednesday this week. And happy early Thanksgiving to anyone who is celebrating!

1. Owen has a fever. Needless to say it was a rough night for my poor little guy, and a pretty exhausting morning. I finally managed to wolf down my salad a few minutes ago and am now drinking a homemade chai latte and getting work done.
2. The new me - my house is a wreck all the time. My poor cousin who is coming to visit - but seriously I have no time to clean. Dishes, laundry, vacuuming it can wait. Getting a bid out to a new client... can't.
3. So we had some big developments this weekend. EV and I talked and we decided we will be pursuing reciprocal IVF in the Spring/Summer. WHAAATTTTTT!!!
4. #3 was initiated by EV (as I suspected it would the birth of her little nephew flipped on a switch). I've always been interested in carrying my wife's baby. All of this began on the last day of Open Enrollment for health benefits. We had actually "downgraded" our plan on Friday because we don't use it very much (when not pregnant ;-). But Friday night as we were reviewing the coverage EV saw that IVF is covered. That started a conversation, and us rushing to the computer to change our plan back to full PPO coverage...
There are some deciding factors that will need to come into play first, and EV admitted that she's shell-shocked that she brought it up, and scared of what life with 3 kids will look like.
5. Pertaining to the above mentioned plans, EV wants to get the promotion she's been working toward. I would like our business to get off the ground and have a dependable source of income. And I need to lose at least 50lbs. To that end I'm looking into Cross Fit clubs and WW.
6. Ok - last one pertaining to TTC. EV told her brother & sister-in-law when we went to visit our new nephew on Saturday. Of course they are thrilled and excited for us. I was surprised that EV told them, and how into this idea she is, despite being in the early fact-finding stage. Now the debate on who the donor will be. Our current known donor (Caucasian with blue eyes) or a bi-racial donor (likely WTBK frozen donor sperm). Genetics vs. looks... known vs. FDS.... It's a weird debate to be in.
7. I might be going to see Mockingjay (alone) tonight. :-)
8. I wish my mom was visiting for Thanksgiving and that she wanted to cook Thanksgiving dinner. I'm looking forward to the holiday, I just don't want to cook...
9. I want to invite any of those of you living in snowy climates to come visit over the next few months if you want. It's only 61 here (so not tropical or anything), and my house is a mess (see #2) but hey I make great chai lattes!
10. I can't wait to see pics of Ash's first b-day tomorrow. (@ATXMommas) and @CageyMack - thanks for the new thread idea!
(Pic of Kaden and Adeline) buddies from the womb on up
@Jazibel very excited for you for reciprocal IVF for #3! Woohoo!
Me too! I know you haven't felt like your family is complete, so this is very exciting! Best wishes on making all the decisions that are to come. Looking forward to hearing about the journey!
1. Wrote a strongly worded account of the unfair treatment of GLBTQ people at my work place to the CEO today. She responded immediately that she is ready to work on making all of our policies more inclusive. I feel like I made a positive impact on the world today... It was very hard and I am exhausted.
2. Heartbroken for @TwoMomsInTX . I will be holding your family in my thoughts during this holiday.
3. Super excited for @jazibel ! An exciting announcement and such happy news.
4. I can't believe we will be having a baby sometime in the next month. Unreal.
5. We build a platform bed yesterday and I thought I was going to cry from exhaustion. But it is totally worth it!
6. So far for our "low key" thanksgiving my wife has baked 4 pies, 4 loaves of bread. Plans on making grits, Brussell Sprout and somehow ended up doing the turkey. She is amazing. I wish I had the energy to help!
7. Getting so excited to meet our little bean sprout! I hope I don't kiss her so much she gets a rash... rational fear, right?!?
8. I order baby an airbrushed infant cap that matches my ridiculous airbrush trucker hat. I am embarrassingly excited about this.
9. I can't wait for ncaa football rival week on Saturday. My sister is coming from Louisville and we are going to make Gameday snacks and watch football until we pass out.
10. I have senioritis at work. I feel like I have so much to do.... And no motivation to finish it because I don't have a real deadline. Maybe tomorrow I will do better... Day before thanksgiving break? Don't hold your breath....
Baby Hayden Frances born 12/20/14 at 11:11 a.m... Our perfect little miracle. Here's how we got here:

I had all 10 things typed out but the internet connection was bad and I lost them all. That's ok though.
@TwoMomsinTX - Take all the time you need to feel what you need to feel, or not feel. When I had my chemical, I was a rollercoaster of emotions and I never even got to the ultrasound point. There's no one way to go through this process.
1. After typing my 10 things earlier, I decided that there was no reason I couldn't get on the treadmill, so I did! I always feel accomplished when I walk. I used to walk every single day without fail. I need to get that motivation back.
2. Our next two vials are in transit. I finally chose a new donor and ordered vials on Sunday. We decided to order two just in case IVF doesn't work again and we decide to give IUI a go again.
3. My RE called last week. He said that he is going to look at my HSG (he's not the one who did it) and see if my lining looks concerning at all. If it does, then I go in for a second hysteroscopy. If it looks good then the endometrial scratch will be done in the office. He said that I would hate him for 5 minutes and then it would be done. I'm guessing that means no pain meds . It is likely that I'll have cramping and bloating after as well. The only time I haven't had that after something has been put in my cervix was during my two transfers. I have Valium to thank for that. Why can't they give it out with every procedure? They only give you one pill, so it isn't like I'm getting a whole bottle. It makes things so much easier for me.
4. I'm starting to have some hope for a new cycle. I'm definitely cautious, but I'm ready to cycle again. I was worried that I wouldn't be. I feel good about moving forward.
5. C applied for two jobs today. They are the exact jobs that were the reason she got her CDL. I'm hoping that this works out for us and that our leap of faith was worth it.
6. Our current financial situation would improve greatly if #5 works out.
7. I made lettuce wraps with tuna, yellow squash relish and black beans for my dinner. I've never had a lettuce wrap before and I really loved them.
8. That's all I have tonight.
Me: 30 DW (aka C): 29
Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12
***CP mentioned***
We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm. 8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy. We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET. I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.
11/14/14 - Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.
12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2
12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)
1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2
****All Welcome!****
We are Mommas to four fur babies - 3 dogs and 1 cat.
1. Ok feel free to judge me: I ordered Thanksgiving from Whole foods. Pick up tomorrow at 11a.m. and I couldn't be happier about it. We're hosting, its small(ish) and I pulled the baby card and no one objected at all. Money can buy happiness, sometimes.
2. The couple with two DE/DS embryos to donate have decided to do one more transfer. Disappointing but of course I wish her success. She was 50 (!) when her son was born and turns 52 this week. She feels super confident it'll work because their first transfer of 1 embryo yielded their son, and wants to donate their remaining one to us...but only after getting a take home baby in October. Not sure we want to wait that long...or put all of our eggs (ahem) in one basket.
3. We interviewed two nannies today. Both would be great, but they are like night and day in their styles, yet both are appealing. We picked our favorite though and will check references, then visit her home (she'll watch S there most of the time), then background check, trial day, and agreement on paper! Yay! Once we're firm I'll share more details.
4. We moved S,out of our bed into a bassinet. Turns out, she noticed. Our. 3-hour sleeper is now a 2-hour sleeper, and I'm tired.
5. Brought up her 3-6 month clothing bin!! We measured her the other day and she's over 25" long!
6. This I from last nights PEPS. Omg.
Inappropriate hand placement on Johann's privates, S!
7. I did WW for a week, but gave myself this week off. Lame, but will re-engage after Thursday.
8. I had my annual physical and my doc commented the my boobs were awfully soft for someone lactating. Thanks, Captain Obvious. No RX for domperidone either, but she explained some of the more serious side effects and now I'm ok not to take it.
9. S is up to over 24oz of formula plus 10ish oz bm a day. Good. Lord.
10. We are moving forward on our remodel!!!! More to come on that!
Lil'mamaz was born on Aug 21, 2014! She's PERFECT!
It's been a long road to here... Me (43) and J (45) - same sex couple. And we don't feel 40+! June'12 - First RE Visit Sept. '12 - Tubes removed Dec. Ok so I hadn't had a chance to read the parenting check-in or TTT threads this week due to our adoption day on Monday and driving to Boston on Tuesday. Well, it is 3:30am on Friday, and I can't sleep, so I just caught up! Holy cow! So much news!
@jazibel - Ahhhhhh! I am so beyond excited for a possible #3 for you and EV! Such amazing news! I cannot wait to hear more!
@ball.and.chain - love the new avatar! Also, I can't wait to see the results from B's holiday photoshoot!
@2mamazinseattle - I am super excited for your house expansion and can't wait for details!
@ATXMommas - the bday pics of Ash are gorgeous! I LOVE everything about them. His shirt, the cake, decorations... So perfect! Well done, mom!
@doodah1013 - when can we officially start baby watch? Haha! I'm so flipping excited for you and A and little Hayden! Sooooo sooooon!!!!!
@StacyLH24 - I am so glad to hear that you are feeling upbeat about your upcoming cycle. Words cannot describe how much I want this to be your time, for you, C and a take home baby! Keeping absolutely everything crossed!
@twomomsinTX - continuing to send you lots of support and internet hugs. You are very strong. I'm thinking of you!
As for me.... I have sooooo much to say, but will try to get caught up in the coming days/week. To sum it up in a few words? My son is amazing. Family is overwhelming. Making holidays harder than necessary is overrated. I love/miss PA. My son is amazing. My dog is lucky she is cute and that we live her so much. Family is crazy. Have I mentioned that my son is amazing? I know, I'm obnoxious, but honestly he is SUCH a good baby there just aren't enough words.... I love my sisters. Feeling good about my relationship with my middle sister for first time in years! Black Friday is dumb. Snow!!!! Family is nuts. Amazing baby.... So little sleep (for me, not baby -- he is currently snoring!).... Oh, and today is the day we are going to see my brother and introduce Will .... Expect an AH post later!
