fenugreek

hi all,

semi-lurker here.  i am breastfeeding my almost 10 month old son, and i take fenugreek to help with milk production.  do any of you have any experience with fenugreek?  i'm curious as to whether or not it could partially be to blame for the absence of my period.  DH and i are dying to get pregnant again!! 

i'm sure you can't tell for sure, but i'm just wondering about your experience with fenugreek and breastfeeding and getting back on your cycle.  i have read a couple things online saying that it could affect your period, but then i've read some things of people taking fenugreek to help with irregular periods.  just seems contradictory.

    If you're maxing out your milk to the point of needing herbal supplements then THAT is the reason for no period, not the herb. For majority of people, if I am not mistaken, it takes some reduction in BFing to get the period going again.
