Parenting after a Loss

We've made a decision

I am taking this year AND next year off. And we are going to start TTC in March or April!!

I don't really believe it. Part of me thinks I'm just plain crazy but another part of me is so excited to continue growing our family. I never in a million years thought I'd be ready this soon for another baby. But this seems to fit better into our life plans. Depending on how long it takes to conceive, I will hopefully have at least 6 months home with baby #2 before possibly going back to work. (we're not really using any birth control now so I suppose it could actually happen sooner)

And who knows if I'll go back or not. A lot can change with the economy and DH's job between now and then. But at least this way my job is still there waiting for me and I will be moving into a different phase of motherhood at that point. In the meantime I am pursuing the tutoring thing in my home and I am very excited about that as well. I really think DH and I can make this work!

I am very VERY excited about finally making up my mind and coming up with a plan that works for our family! I don't have to go back to work right now OR give up my job! :)

  • I'm glad you decided on a plan that makes you happy :) It's hard to make those decisions and stress over then, so at least you can have peace of mind knowing you have a plan, and it sounds like a good one :)
  • That is so exciting, good luck.

  • Congratulations!  That sounds really exciting.  I am starting to feel a little itch for baby #2 as well, but not ready to take the plunge yet.  I can't wait to see a BFP sometime this spring or summer!!!  (fingers crossed!) Yay!

  • Congrats! So, your teaching job will be available for you in Sept. of 2010? That's great...our district does the same thing, you can take up to 2 years off. I am also feeling ready for TTC-ing #2, but am waiting to hear from my dr. on what's safe. I think your plan is great, and am so happy for you :)
