Worried about my husband

Sorry if this is AW-ish, but my husband is in the medical industry and calls on hospitals right in the center of the Ferguson unrest. The rioters have listed places they are going to "target" and 3 of those places are hospitals my DH is supposed to be at tomorrow. I don't know what I expect from you ladies, I just need to vent that I'm worried. :-( Praying for peace, not just for DH's sake, but because that community needs it!

They sure do! I have a very good friend who is an anesthesiologist in trauma at one of those hospitals. I'm worried about her - the hospital has prepared for the worst, and the news coverage looks awful. Thankfully, my friend isn't even permitted to come or go until things calm down. Is there anyway your husband can put off his visits until things calm down?

Definitely will keep him in my thoughts. I agree, isn't there a way he can postpone this trip, even a couple days? It's really bad out there right now and i can't imagine trying to do anything productive there at the moment. It all just seems like angry chaos and a really bad place to be.

Thanks ladies. He's trying to postpone going down there. He has deliveries going out that he needs to be present for, otherwise there would be no question- he wouldn't go. The hospitals call for the deliveries to be done at EOM for payment reasons to the company (it's has to do with their fiscal years and how they spend $. Every year this is the busiest and most stressful time of DH's job.) and it seems really petty in the midst of all of this chaos, but WE also need them delivered by EOM for our own payroll purposes. As I've mentioned in other posts, we are building a house, and now only a couple of weeks from closing on conventional financing from construction loan. DH gets paid a (sizable) commission based off of these deliveries. Without them happening now (and again, he didn't put the timing off, the hospitals delay it) we don't get paid. No commission check = much higher mortgage w/ much higher monthly payments.
I feel so petty even thinking about payments when there is danger like this happening (my heart breaks for the StL area! It's like a 2nd home for me.) and there are store owners losing EVERYTHING to riots and looters, but the fact is the payments are on our minds. I told DH that NO PAYMENT is worth his safety. He is stressed thinking of taking care of his family financially. Right now, he's reached out to the CFO's of the hospitals to see of they can make an exception to his needing to be there during deliveries because of the current climate. Hopefully we hear back ASAP tomorrow morning so that he doesn't have to drive down.

People are so crazy. You haven't seen much of it on the news but there have been so many bomb threats on the military base my husband and I live by, one right beside where he specifically works.. I totally know that paranoid heart-in-your-gut feeling of nervousness!
I'll be keeping that whole dang city in my thoughts and prayers today. Hopefully things work out and your H won't have to be present for those deliveries. Good luck to you both!

I certainly hope they shut down the hospital for anything nonessential, but you are right, no commission payment is worth your husband's safety. Its just a volatile situation right now and I hope that @bowman958 is right and things calm down once the sun comes up.

Prayers. I've been watching the coverage. My heart aches for the innocent people affected by this. This is not the way to protest your upset and concern about a controversial decision. I think we can all agree on that. Such a waste.

Thanks for the T&P's ladies! 2 of the 3 hospitals said that he didn't need to be present for delivery due to the circumstances and the 3rd postponed until next week about half way through the day!!! Still praying for rest for the StL area. This is such a sad time we live in. :-(
