Confused!! who books first scan?

Hey everyone I had my first official appointment at doctors with midwife on 19th nov, Im currently 7 half weeks pregnant she gave me another appointment in january to see her but im confused about the first scan who books that? Do you get letter in post or do we ring I forgot to ask the mdwife before leaving..

Any help would be useful :)

    She may be waiting to discuss it with you at your next appointment in January. Many care providers don't book the first ultrasound until 18 weeks. I'd call for clarification.

    My GP gave me a referral for one and I booked it myself with that. Was at 7 weeks I got mine next one is at 12 weeks, already booked in and then after that will be 18 weeks for the sex

    When I went in to the office for them to confirm pregnancy at around 5 weeks they scheduled my first appointment and first ultrasound right then for 12/1 (when I'd be 9 weeks). They do everything right there in the same office suite (right next door to each other).

    With my first, we only had one scan/ultrasound the entire pregnancy and it was at 20w to determine gender. Our new provider does three scans/ultrasounds. It varies. I would call your OB/midwife's office to check.
