Hello ladies!

I'm a first time mom. I'm 5 and a half weeks along. This year I made the decision to quit my job as a hospital administrator and go back to school full time. It was a huge leap. I live with my boyfriend of 2 years and this little criter came as a huge surprise! We were shocked, but I we're slowly starting to make sense of it all. We are both in our late 20's so we knew it could happen. What a crazy year it's been!

I do have a question. I'm having a dull crampy almost burning lower abdominal pain. I asked a good friend, who is a DARNP and she said it's normal. Everything is just stretching and moving around. My sister just so happens to be 23 weeks pregnant and she said she had nothing like that at all. Anyone else feeling this? I also had a tiny bit (like dime sized) amount of dark brown discharge today, but nothing since. I'm hoping that was just a little left over stuff.

Congrats and welcome!! As for the symptoms, you will probably find the answers on the daily symptom board! Cramps can be totally normal, as well as brown blood!:) good luck!

Congrats & Welcome! Mine was a big surprise too so I can relate..

I've had the cramping with all 3 of my pregnancies, it's pretty normal... I've also been told that brown discharge is ok, as long as it doesn't get red & heavy... But you might check with your doc in the morning to be safe...

Hey! This is my first too. I'm about 4 weeks and I'm cramping too. As long as you aren't doubled over in pain I think we are good. Ectopic pregnancy is super painful so just be mindful if your pain starts increasing.

I've had cramping and a burning sensation too and my breasts are unbearably sore. First time pregnancy too. 5 weeks today, I've known for a little over a week tested really early bc I had a feeling. I've been with my husband for 13 years, married for a 15 months. His mom passed away a year ago at Christmas, and his dad is living with us in a downstairs apartment and is severely depressed. So my husband isn't exactly happy about this but it's what I've wanted my whole life. I'm angry and sad at the moment and having a hard time keeping my emotions in check. Anyone elses significant other not thrilled? How are you coping?
