I have heard good things. We have one in our registry as they have a smaller foot print and aren't too visually offensive (as far as baby things go). If you don't get a ton of responses here, take a look at the baby gear board, a search there should give you some opinions.
We have one. Used it a lot the first couple of months with my son but not much after that. He would just cry and want to be held. I'm hoping the next baby likes it better.
We got one because I've read tons of great reviews on it plus I've seen it in the store and I was really impressed by the design and the fact that it has multiple bouncing options as well as the iphone insert and music option. The motion that it provides for babies is sort of like when they're being held and you can combine it with your favorite kind of music and just hope that your baby loves it! I love the fact that it looks so sleek and stylish and yet it seems very functional and promising. I've heard it is a true life saver and can't wait to see if my baby likes it! If not, I can always give it away as an awsome gift or save it for future babies. All in all, seems like a good investment to me as it is quite unique comparing to other bouncers/rocking chairs.
We have a mamaroo, and our son loved it. It was gifted to us, otherwise we would not have gotten it. It is nice looking and doesn't take up a lot of room which is great. The weight limit is 25 lbs which can be tricky. Our son was a big baby, and when we got past 20 lbs the mamaroo started making a clicking sound with each motion.
We've got one from DS. He loved it until he was about 3 months old. It was a serious lifesaver in those first months when he had awful colic and needed constant motion, but I needed a bathroom break.
Our last daughter was in the NICu and they had two mama roos. The babies would have to take turns with them. I was amazed on how much our daughter loved it that we bought one used off of craigslist. She loved that thing for the first several months. We are selling our bouncer and swing and just keeping the mamaroo this time.
My aunt got one and swears by it. I've seen it in action and they really are so cool. I love the different motion patterns it has vs just the typical back and forth swing.
I saw it in the store and want one! I've heard good things from others on here and IRL. I plan to put in on the registry. It is a little more expensive but not that much more than the other swing my friend recommended.

My cousin had one for her baby. They really liked it and other babies who used it did too. I wish I was around to try it with my DS, he was super colicky but did fine with a regular swing. I would still get a bouncer if I had one, a bouncer is much more portable and is my favorite baby item.
We have one. Its definitely cool, but my kid loved the swing more because the movements can be more rapid, but every kid is different so you can never really tell.
It was my one big splurge when my daughter was born - she hated it and we used it literally two times. Bought a regular swing (Fisher Price snug a bunny I think was the name) and she pretty much lived in it. I tried to sell the mamaroo on craigslist but never had any luck. Keeping my fingers crossed this baby likes it so I can finally get my money's worth on it.
We got one as a gift when ds was born, he did like it, but I have friends who kids hated the ones they got. If you get it, make sure you register at a place you can return and keep the receipt. Not every kid likes every swing/bouncer unfortunately.
We have one, and it was a lifesaver. It washes easily and is so quiet. Our only complaint was how quickly our son grew out of it. For our 2 on the way, we're actually considering getting another one.
Re: 4 Moms Mamaroo
For the mamas who have it, does the cover hold up during a wash?
Yes, it zipper off and you can wash it. It is almost like a canvas material. We got it used for $75.
