NBR- what do I wear to this wedding?

I have only been to two weddings ever. One when I was 10 and one recently and there was no dress code so I just wore this sun dress. This wedding I have to go to Saturday has a cocktail attire dress code. and I'm not quite sure exactly what that means...Is this cocktail attire or is it too much? I have had it forever and never wore it. It has an open back. My only other option is black jeans with heels and this white shirt. Picture number two. I don't want to be over dressed, but I don't want to be too under dressed and I feel like jeans would be pushing. Help? I can't afford to buy another outfit for just one night.

    Black dress is perfect cocktail attire! Evening wedding right? Jeans probably wouldn't be fancy enough but I'm not sure about the venue. The dress is a safe bet ;)

    Ok thanks! I agree on the jeans. I just think it would be a little under dressed and I would hate to walk in there wearing jeans while everyone else is wearing little black dresses. The ceremony starts at 345 so the reception will be in the evening

    It has several venues but the one on the invite says "chapel by the sea" so I'm assuming it's this one.

    Black dress it is. Thanks ladies. And yes it really is! I checked the website and there are a few different venues but the name on the invite makes it pretty obvious that it's probably the one by the water lol

    I know you already chose but I agree with black dress! Its not too fancy but it is fancier than jeans. I like it :)

    Agree with PP - LBD is always the answer. 

    And I'm kind of jealous that you've only been to two weddings. We've been getting hit with several weddings a year and man are they expensive!!!

    No no no to jeans. While it's a super cute outfit, not appropriate for the wedding. Definitely go with the dress, it looks wedding appropriate to me.

    Lol I've noticed a lot of my new mommy friends have been bombarded with weddings ever since they've had their LO. I was starting to feel pretty unpopular. This is one of dhs Co workers too so I'm just the +1
