Experience with Zofran?

Hi ladies. Took my first zofran yesterday after a really bad weekend of nausea and puking. It took me forever to get the courage to swallow the pill because I hate taking anything during pregnancy and even my doctor didn't seem 100% behind the idea. He only prescribed 7 pills. I was waiting for the magic to kick in, but nothing. I still felt car sick all day and spent the night dry heaving. Has anyone else taken it with no results? Does it take a few days to kick in?

Re: Experience with Zofran?

  • I had to take it with my last pregnancy because I could not keep anything down. I don't know if there are different kinds but with my pill it was the kind you dissolve on your tongue. Maybe double check if you are supposed to just swallow it or dissolve it. Zofran was a life saver for me. It didn't make me feel 100% but it kept me from puking more and I felt well enough to get through the day.

  • I am on it for the first time. I didn't have morning sickness this bad with my first two pregnancies. It takes the edge off my morning sickness but does not take it away totally. Sometimes I have to take two at a time and sometimes one it just depends.
  • I am taking zofran as needed and it's working well for me. The only symptom that I've experienced is that it magnifies the dizziness that I already experience. :(
  • Zofran worked for me but I got constipated. And it wasn't cause I was pregnant that was when I had stomach virus.

  • The one I have is actually a generic version. Maybe that's why? All it did was make me super tired. Wait, correction: MORE super tired. I could sleep 36 hours straight if my family would let me!
  • They don't work for me. Just makes me extremely dizzy.

There are different kinds. It comes in a disolving tab and a tab you swallow. One shouldn't be any more effective
