confusing test results!

I have taken a total of four home pregnancy tests. Two are clear blue and the other two are first response. I took both first response about a week ago at 10:30am and they both came back positive. Last night I took a clear blue and it was also positive. This morning around 5 I took the second clear blue and it came back negative. I'm confused at what to do at this point.

Re: confusing test results!

  • I know the blue dye tests are more likely to be unreliable. You should test with another pink dye First Response.

  • Use your first pee of the day. And have you missed your period yet?

  • I thought I just had my period a few days ago but I researched and found out it turned out (if I am pregnant) to be implantation? Because it was very light and darker. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow.
  • Let us know what they say at the doctors office but it sounds to me like you're pregnant and you had one bunk test!

  • I would wait and see what your doctor says tomorrow. They can check your betas to make sure that they are rising or do an ultrasound. For now, I would stop peeing on things, I know it is hard. I am sorry you are going through this.

Not a false positive, but a chemical pregnancy could cause a negative test after a positive.

OP, I'm sorry you're going through this. I would give your doctor a call and let them know and maybe they can draw some betas.

  • I hadn't thought about chemical pregnancy, but I had implantation bleeding 2 of 3 pregnancies. It's totally normal. If it were me I would grab a dollar store test, but if that would worry you more it's a bad idea. :( please update when you have more info! Hope all goes well.
  • Did you have your bleeding before or after your positive tests?
