I started having a horrible pain in my right side last week. It felt like it was getting better until tonight, it was worse than ever. My husband insisted I go to the ER, so that's where I have been hanging out for 4 hours.
When they did a EKG my heart was beating funny at times. So they thought it might be a blood clot. I had to get a CT scan, thank God they didnt find one! But do to the injection I had to get while they did the scan I can't breastfeed for 48 hours.
This breaks my heart. I have worked so hard to get my low supply up a little and I am so worried that my DD won't go back to nursing. And I keep thinking about how she is going to handle not nursing. And how hard it is going to be when she is staring at me with her mouth open.
Has anyone else had to not breastfeed for a couple of days? Did you LO go back to nursing without any problems? How did you mentally handle it?

RPL testing shows one copy of MTHFR gene mutation.
My rainbow baby Isaac has arrived!
She takes a bottle great, she gets one at every feeding due to my low supply, so I am just crossing my fingers this goes smoothly. All though, it was so sad, when I got home and picked her up she started rooting like crazy and was upset when I didn't let her nurse.
Good luck !
When I came out of the hospital my supply was so low that each feeding I had to supplement with a bottle. But after working on it (eating a lot of the right things, and trying every trick in the book) and being really patient with DD so she could basically relearn latching I am able to exclusively breast feed her with no problem!
Also I know you are concern for your LO & I can understand the emotions you are going through , as my supply has been a struggle too & it does take much effort to nourish your LO & all the emotions that we experience can be stressful, PPs suggested some wonderful advice to try. Well wishes and fx your LO has a smooth transition back to nursing
I found more research, including from the National College of Radiation that said even nursing immediately after a scan is safe. I only found 1 article that said you may want to wait .
My cousin in law is in pharmacy school and she couldn't find anything other than reading it is safe as well.
