Fun or does it take away the excitement?

Every year for Christmas I make my family (and DH's family) calendars for Christmas each month is a collage of photos. I wanted to 'tell' our family about the pregnancy but writing the due date on the calendar and wait to see who notices... and also possibly putting a photo of DD with a Big Sister shirt as one of the photos for that month. DH says that takes the fun away from telling everyone. What do you think... is it fun or taking away the fun?

I think it would be really fun if you knew people were going to flip through the photos. Often when I get a new calendar I don't look at the photo until I get to that month, so I would totally miss it!

Cute....but...what if it doesn't stick? I don't want to be a party pooper bit than you have a whole family reminded about what would have been....and believe me- living through a due date that didn't happen is terrible as it is.

This is how my brother and SIL announced their DD. They just made my parents open the calendar and go through the whole thing in front of them. Then my parents went around showing everyone the calendar. They were so proud. So I think it's a cute idea.

I was thinking the same thing! I make the grandparents an annual calendar with the kids photos. It's a super cute idea. I was going to put our ultrasound picture in the month of July.

Thanks ladies! I think I am going to talk DH into it. Each year our families look forward to the calendars and go through them ASAP. These last few years I have started putting a picture of the persons face on their birthday, so now they look to see what picture I used for that. I think if I put DD in a shirt that says big sister on the page and the ultra sound on the date they will find it

@MisSmartyPants I have thought about that too.... worries me and makes me nervous. But it is just our immediate family and hopefully if anything happens everyone will only be supportive.
