Horrific lower back pain

I know its normal but holy hell it's bad. Anyone have any stretches, pointers, anything? I'm despie over here! I do yoga and that helps out but it's not enough. I also stupidly googled taking Tylenol while pregnant so not doing that. Heat? Any other stretches? One of those stretching torture devices?

  • Yes I have been having terrible back pain the past week, I will be 14 weeks tomorrow. It's on my left side, right above my behind. It hurts so bad sometimes I don't feel like I can walk. It will last for a few minutes and then get better. I have noticed I have it more when I carry things, like our puppy or stacks of paper at work. So I am trying to take it easy.
  • I have awful lower back pain to the point I had a muscle spasm that left me laying on the floor not able to move a few days ago. I have found regular pregnancy massages help a lot and I used a heating pad at night, Tylenol and lots of stretching and not lifting anything if I can avoid it for sure help. Good luck!!!
  • I am almost 14 weeks and I have it on my left side near the bottom of my spine and and a little over. I notice it when I move the wrong way or bend over. It hurts so bad sometimes. I just try heat, back rubs from my boyfriend and lots of rest. I only try to take Tylenol for bad headaches at work. Currently I'm battling a cold and I want DayQuil so bad lol. :((
  • @lysser1218‌ ugh yes, I had a cough/cold for 2 weeks and I knew DayQuil/NyQuil would've helped but it say there, laughing at me in the medicine cabinet.

  • I was told tylenol was okay. The figure 4 stretch helped me a lot. My pain was sciatic pain, I was barely able to walk for close to two weeks.

  • I thought heating pads were forbidden during pregnancy?? Consider a prenatal massage to loosen the muscles?
  • If the pain is making you double over, feel nauseous or dizzy, or is a shooting pain that comes in waves you should call your OB. That can sometimes signify something else going on.

Otherwise, warm baths, heating pads and back rubs! I'd take Tylenol if I could!
  • I've had the same thing! Lower back pain but shooting pain on the left side. Waiting to hear back from the doc but it's horrible to deal with especially at work, on my feet for 8 to 10 hours. I do alot of stretching and yoga plus heating pads as that helps to relax the muscles. No meds yet and hopefully won't have to.
    Hopefully yall will feel better!
  • I've had major back pain as well. For me, ICE is the way to go. The heat was actually making it worse. Try an ice pack wrapped in a dish cloth. Hope it helps!
  • Girl you are not alone! I've been having really bad pains in my lower back! It helps if you get a rag or a wash cloth and wet it and then put it in the microwave. I usually heat it up for about 1 min. You just hear it up as hot has you can stand it. Then lay on your side and let your hubby hold it where it hurts. It feels so good!
