What is your favorite mat jean?

I just got my first pair of maternity jeans in the mail last night.  They're Gap "Long and Lean" in tall.  They're not quite long enough and I'm finding them SUPER baggy in the ass/thighs.

Anyone have a favorite mat jean brand that doesn't have the ass-sag problem I've read so much about?

Re: What is your favorite mat jean?

  • I got the one pair I like at motherhood, I'm tall too, but not even remotely close to being as skinny as you, so the XL there wasn't long enough, I ended up getting a 1X, which was too big but now that my belly is so abundant, they fit perfectly.

    That's all I got.

  • I actually like my gap jeans. Not a fan of old navy. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
  • My motherhood secret belly ones aren't baggy in the ass and thighs.  They don't stay up all that well though. I'm hoping they stay up better when my belly is bigger.

  • I'm short and skinny, so anything too long and baggy doesn't work for me (AKA motherhood mat. jeans!)  I've tried 2 pairs from there and both times they felt good int he store but when I got to actually wear them they sag, fall down..etc...

Until my mom enlightened me and told me that Paris Blues (junior sizing, not misses/baggy land!) makes maternity jeans.  I got a nice stretchy pair w/ great ass cuppage (LOL LOL) from Burlington Coat Factory.  Not sure where else would sell them, but they were a steal at $14.99.  Highly recommend.

  • Ew, I hate the saggy ass.  I had to ditch my Gap ones...the butt looked so mom-jean-esque.  I got really cute ones from MiMi with button pockets on the back, they're Mavi I think.  I'm wearing them in my siggy pic!!
  • Oh, also, I'm 5'10" and these are long enough...YAY!

I am having this same problem.  My mom said I looked uncomfortable in them.  Guess the quest for good jeans is still on....

  • I got IT jeans at Mimi and they are my favorite based on fit.

I love my Joe's Jeans but they stretch out so much. They will be great at the end of the pregnancy but for now they are more around the house and not something I would wear out to dinner or a nice place. I also have paige jeans but I hate the belly band on them.

Ditto, I love my MM jeans.

  • I have a pair of Liz Lange from Target that I like a lot.  It's the only pair of jeans I've bought, so I can't compare.  But they fit a lot better than the pair of cords I got from ON (huuuuge).  I recommend shopping for them at amazon.com and getting them a lot cheaper - but somehow they still come in a target box.

I had no idea Burlington had a maternity section!  I can't wait for the local one to open so I can call and find out if they have one!

I'm waiting for my Paige jeans to arrive today! I'll let folks know how they work. I wear the same style regularly so hopefully they are good.  I also got a pair from the Gap for $9.97! They kinda slide down but my belly just may not be big enough yet.

DD if you're tall and thin. I've heard that Motherhood is not the place for you. Good luck!

  • i've got a pair from motherhood that i like alot. they flare at the bottom. they are super comfortable and they don't get saggy butt as easily as most maternity jeans....i HATE saggy butt! lol...i'm just excited i still fit in medium jeans even though i've gained 35 lbs already!!!

Anyone else just a little alarmed that mat jeans come in junior sizing?  ;)

  • I just got a pair from Walmart the other day.  Super comfy and did not have the saggy issue.

  • I just bought two pairs of maternity jeans from Ann Taylor Loft! ?There is a location by me that has a section in their store... but Ann Taylor is suffering from the economy so they are getting rid of their mat line. ?That's the bad news.

The good news is that all of their stuff online is discounted and then you take an extra 50% off when you checkout!

I got two pairs of jeans for $30... which is how much I paid for my one pair from Motherhood.

The Ann Taylor ones are great. ?They have a nice dark wash that is very work appropriate for me on Fridays.

  • Maternal America are the best!!  They are expensive, but so comfy!
  • I have a pair of Citizens that are amazing.  They fit just like my pre-pregnancy Citizens, meaning no weird ass-sag problem.
  • Citizens of Humanity Kelly boot cut. They cost a fortune, but they were worth every penny. Do a google shopping search & see if you can find a deal. It's the only pair you'll need.?
