Abnormal pathology results after D&C

I found out at 10 weeks that I had a missed miscarriage and the baby stopped growing around 7 weeks.  I had a D&C a week later and at my follow-up appointment I found out that the pathology report showed rapid cell growth with no explanation for miscarriage.  My OB said the abnormal growth was where the placenta attached to the uterine wall, in the fingerlike structures, which I understand to be the chorionic villi.  My HCG level was 12 yesterday (6 weeks after miscarriage and 2 weeks after D&C).  I'm going back in a week to have my HCG level drawn again.  I'm worried about Gestational Trophoblastic Disease.  Is this a valid concern?  Has anyone been in a similar situation?  Thanks.  
TTC #1 for 14 months, completed IF w/u and spontaneous BFP
TTC #2 since summer '10, not preventing since 5/09
Me: ovulatory dysfunction, Hashimoto's thyroiditis DH: normal
IUI #1 100mg Clomid + Ovidrel = BFN
IUI #2 100mg Clomid + Ovidrel = BFN
IUI #3 100mg Clomid + Ovidrel = BFN
Unmedicated cycle = BFN
IUI #4 Gonal-F 75 units + Ovidrel = BFP!!!
Beta #1 @ 13 dpiui = 80 Beta #2 @ 17 dpiui = 381

    I have no experience in that but I wanted to say that I am sorry for your loss. 
    I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

    I feel like I got minimal information from my doctor. He said if my HCG was still above 2, which it is, then I would have it drawn again in a week. No mention of a molar pregnancy. I'm just concerned about my pathology report.
