Travel Bassinet

Are travel/fold 'n' go bassinets safe? Do you place it on the floor or next to you on the bed?

We'll be flying to FL sometime in the spring and I saw one of these on clearance for $11.99. If these are safe, it'd be perfect because I've been wondering what he'll sleep in. What's everyone's thoughts?

Re: Travel Bassinet

  • We are also traveling in the late spring so I registered for this one:

It got good reviews and seems safer than hotel cribs. I don't know why but don't trust those. We are also flying so bringing the pack n play isn't an option.
I'd be interested what in what others have to say since I'm a FTM.

  • I think that is the exact one on clearance at Shopko that I saw.

  • I've never used one but I can say that I've never seen anything that says not to.

Most hotels these days offer pack n plays in lieu of an actual crib (that is what they consider a crib). We have used them before but just bring our own sheets (just b/c I would rather use my own).

We have used cribs and pack n' plays from hotels with no problem.  When A was an itty bitty infant we used a Moses basket and it was great.  Very portable and comofrtable.  If you do decide to go this route I would definitely recommend bringing your own sheets and requesting some extra blankets to put underneath the fitted sheet because they tend to be rock hard!

  • We're flying and staying in a house we're renting so we won't be staying at a hotel.
