Anyone downloading any good apps to keep track of baby feeding logs growth etc? I found one called Baby Tracker with good reviews but haven't used it yet. Is it worth to keep logs?
Perfect honesty: I was too tired/distracted to keep up with any of the baby feeding apps I downloaded the first time so I have absolutely no helpful advice. Sorry
I didn't keep track of anything either. I think all that stuff makes it stressful and can make some people more paranoid. My sister wrote everything down in a journal and she was always so worried about everything.
DS had some feeding/weight gain problems that lasted for about a month after he was born. During that time, I was required to record everything for the pedi, so I used an app. I used iBaby - it was easy to use and it was very helpful given the circumstances. But I know I wouldn't have used the app if we didn't have all those issues.
We used a steno pad to keep track for a long time. It got to be too much work after too long. Once we knew she was gaining weight, we stopped tracking.
At first, we wrote everything down. I felt like I needed some kind of a timer, so I got an Itzbeen, which was helpful, but it was more of a countdown than a recording device. After a while, I switched to the Feed Baby app (for android phones), and I'm planning to use that this time.
I could never remember the last time DD ate, so for me, it was less stressful to have the app than to wing it. Our pediatrician also asked us to record diapers and feedings until DD had gained some weight, so we needed the info for that. Once she gained enough weight, we stopped tracking diapers, but I kept track of her feedings until around 6-8 months.
I bought the Itzbeen with DS and found that we never used it. Maybe now that we have 2 kids to manage we'll actually use it but I doubt it. DS was always nice and vocal when he needed something

This. I'm also required to record. They said for 2 weeks as of now because she's doing well. I'm using iBaby as mentioned above. I have to use a paper log her doctor gave me, but use the app because I always have my phone. And it's easier overnight when she's waking and feeding to put it in my phone and transfer to paper next day. I don't think I'd be doing it if she weren't a preemie, though. It's kind of annoying and a lot of work.
