My husband wants to name our little girl Charlotte Elisabeth, Charlie for short. I think it is too common and LOVE the name Phoenix Scarlett. I love unique names and I love the meaning to the name Phoenix. I had a tubal reversal and Phoenix means " to rise from the ashes". Anyhoo, I posted this in the February 15 board and oh man it got ugly fast! Figured I would give it a go over here where some of you ladies are a little more open minded.
Is Phoenix really that bad?! 300 votes
Re: Is Phoenix really that bad?!
I like Phoenix. I think it's as legit as any other nature/ place/ mythological name.
I actually prefer it to Charlotte, but I think of all the names you have in your OP I like Scarlett best.
Scarlett Phoenix?

Eta: Agree with other poster that Scarlett Phoenix makes me think "Red Bird" and Charlotte Phoenix sounds like a route between two cities.
I think Charlotte or Scarlett Elisabeth is a million times better. Seriously.

Elizabeth Phoenix or Scarlett Elizabeth, maybe?
@lizybeth78 not nice to say negative things about your BMB. The only two posts you've made have been using this community for our opinions, like your own personal google. Phoenix is awful. Get over yourself. Maybe you'd like babycenter better where they will LOVE everything you ask or say.

This exactly. I live in Phoenix and don't have too much positive to say about it. Just not a nice name for a little girl in my opinion.

FWIW I feel like my DD middle name has a similar meaning ( Persephone) and is more common and acceptable as a name ( preferably a middle name as well though, but could be a FN if you are really dead seton it).
Horrible for a girl. Horrible as a name for a human. If you must, put in the middle name spot.
I love Charlotte.
... But I don't know about it for a girl. I'd use it as a MN with something other than Scarlett. Elizabeth Phoenix perhaps.
