Bike Riding Help

So we now have new bikes. I haven't ridden one in a while, so we are going to go slow on some easier paths.  Any suggested baby things? My husband likes the thing where the kid rides up front. I'm guessing with a helmet this is safe? We will not be mountain biking or on bad trails, just really easy paths. Maybe Venice Beach when it's quiet, that kind of thing. I know we have to get helmets too, and a new bike rack for the car so we can fit both our new bikes and my son's bike.

    I am 5-4 and husband is 5-10.  I'll have to figure that out. I'm not opposed to putting her behind me.

    She wears caps but not hats.  But she's pretty easygoing so I'm hoping that if we all wear helmets, she'll adapt. I think we have to get a mount that is removable, because I just can't see myself leaving that on the car all of the time. We probably won't ride more than once a month.

    He got a a 26 inch bike, I don't know how to describe it.  I'm going to start reading reviews for the kid seats.  Thank you!

    I have seen a few too many terrible videos of bikes falling over with LOs in them strapped to seats.  *shudder*

    For that reason when we get back into biking we'll definitely be going the bike trailer route.  DH needs the extra resistance training anyway ;-)

    When I got one for G the store really recommended a trailer as the safest but I took my chances buying the safest ride behind seat and I love, love love it. We got one that is basically a car seat and was definitely I'm the pricier end but I feel really secure with the boys in it. I have the Topeak. I'm 5'3" and DH has never used it but being on the back it's not really a factor.
