We have plans to spend thanksgiving with my aunt and her family. She just texted me this morning to tell me that one of her daughters (age 12) has lice. She said she found it Wednesday and she's probably had it for about 2 weeks. She said no one else in the house has it, as of yet, and we should be good to come for Thanksgiving.
I'm not sure if she did the proper lice removal cleaning of the house and stuff and I don't know how to ask without being insulting. And even if she did, is there a chance since she had it for so long it can come back? Ugh.
I really don't want to chance it, but we're the only ones going and I'd feel bad, but I will absolutely die if lice comes my way (I have terrible OCD).
Help me navigate this one, please.
Re: WWPD: lice.
Itchy just thinking about it!
My niece always gets lice and my DD had picked it up from her a few times, drives me insane. Ditto everyone else on the tea tree oil, that stuff does work. Also, when I know she's going to see her I rub coconut oil on her scalp and braid her hair or put it in a tight bun and put tons of hairspray all over. Wash her hair when the visit is over and put more coconut oil so they can't attach. Much easier to deal with than getting rid of bugs.
