Anyone still have a rear facing toddler?

A week ago my husband and I were about to turn around the car seat for our two-year-old. However I vaguely remembered somebody on here posting about a video that showed how much safer it was to keep children rear facing as long as possible. After researching I found it was probably a better idea to leave her rear facing. Anyone have any evidence or information stating otherwise? I really wanted to turn her around because I thought she would be a happier camper. But part of me suspects she will still scream for my phone. Adding onto that I would love to get one of those DVD players that attaches to the head rest but that's not safe either. Thoughts?

    DD is 27mo and still RF. Keeping her that way at least until she's 3.

    We flipped my oldest when he was right around 3yo. He went through a few phases where he didn't like his car seat. We do keep some toys in the car and they just needed a refresh every once in a while.

    The twins are about 17mo and we'll keep them RF for a while yet.

    We rear faced until a few months ago, a few months after DD's 4th birthday. We got a little side eye from DH's family, but it's safer, so we ignored it.

    My 3yr old is RF, he'll stay that way until at least April (3 months shy of 4) when his new brother is born.

    Thanks so much ladies. Sometimes I can be very letter of the law for a lot of things child related. And people look at me like I'm nuts. For example I never put blankets or bumpers in the crib and a lot of moms I know just think that's hogwash. Any suggestions of how I can undo the screaming for my phone in the car? I thought about the DVD player but that's not supposed to be safe either. Any toys it keep your kids busy?

    We RFd DD until she was 3 and a bit, until she outgrew the RF height limits and we needed the convertibles for DS anyways. Got a bit of flack about it from other parents but I didnt really GAF, so we kept going. DS will RF for as long as the seat allows too, or at least 3.

    My daughter is 2 years, 3 months and still rear facing. She'll be that way until at least 3, unless she happens to outgrow her seat.

    We RFed my DD as long as we could. In her Radian we made it to almost 4. My son is a giant kid though, so we got him a Foonf and he's still happily RFing in at at almost 23 months. We plan on keeping him RFing until he reaches the max on his seats. So, hopefully 3.5. We can only hope. I find that keeping a couple of interactive toys in the car really helps. As does a mirror, Cade loves mirrors. We also play audio books and music in the car. I've probably listened to the Frozen soundtrack 100 times now.

    Born Oct/2011 and Sept/2012 and both RFing without plan to change that any time soon.

    We rearfaced until 3.5, when I was struggling to clip him into my sedan with my bump.

    Two rearfacing car seats won't fit in my car if DH is driving, so he's still that way.

    I agree with the noisy toys. Do you play music? Music she likes can help a lot.

    Do you have an old phone she can use? When I got a new iphone I let DS use my old one. It only picked up wireless and had no phone plan so I had a bunch of kid apps for him to play with that didn't require internet. And I didn't have to worry about him calling anyone.

    DD is forward, but DS will be RF until he reaches the limits. (DD asked to be turned because she claimed it made her sick to go backwards)

    Wow @pobrecita, that's nuts.  You know, the part of the video (well there are a couple I watched, so I can't remember which one it was) that really hit home was you can easily fix a broken leg, not a spine.  CASE CLOSED.
