Kinesio Taping During Pregnancy

Any second timers ever tried kinesio taping during pregnancy?

I went to motherhood maternity to try support belts tonight due to my belly hurting during the day, but thought they were all too big and bulky so I am considering doing some k- taping.
If you have experience with it:
How did you like it? Did it work? Would you tell other moms to be to try it?

Thanks ladies :)

  • I had some taping like this done on my knees and it really helped so I think it might help. It was amazing the difference I felt

  • K-taping can be helpful for small issues related to pregnancy but it doesn't really have the ability to provide as much support as a support belt. It's just stretchy tape at the end of the day. . I personally like it for my SI joint pain right now but am continuing to try to use my abs on their own to hold my belly up. Not sure how much longer they are going to cooperate. Also know that k-taping can stretch already stretched skin pretty severely so it may increase stretch marks. If you already have them, I wouldn't recommend taping directly on tissue that is already compromised
  • I agree @nhamic‌. Great for joints or small areas but not for belly support. Have you tried an atlas belt? The come in different sizes and are adjustable in three places. It's been a lifesaver for me.

  • It's ok. I can't see it holding up a belly. I had some done on my shoulders for rugby. It was like pissing in the ocean, totally doesn't cut it for hard core stuff but I felt ok off the pitch/not doing anything major.

I'm going to google this, because it's where all of my pain is right now, but do you have a link to how you tape for SI joint?!?
